This strap can be used cross body and then pulled up to shoot, much as the BR and other similar straps as the BR. The camera does not slide, but the Domke is lighter in weight and easy enough to pull up to shoot. I keep a wrist strap on my camera along with the Domke. It's a quick and easy move from one to the other. The strap does stay where you put it, no matter what you are wearing. And, because it is so small and light, I leave it on my camera when packing.
