Janine W : archival quality of pics?HUNG H : I think people are confused about what archival means. It's the longevity of the picture. Not quality. Dye sub are absolutely photo lab like. But if exposed to long hours of sunlight and or heat. They will fade compared to other pronting processes. You will have to google what printers are best for archival but dye sub will not be your solution.HUNG H : No. Most dye subs are not just because of the printing process.TANISHA M : I have only printed 4x6 ( I use this printer for a photo booth) and he quality is superb! I have no complaints.MARTY E : These are outstanding quality prints with better archival quality than any inkjet prints. These come out of the printer with a clear laminate coating to protect against water scratches etcDPPRODUCTIONSLV D : These pictures are immediately deleted once they are printed, however there is a setting whereby you can prevent this from happening for archiving. They are printed from a JPG and very high quality. Mine are 24meg files from my MKii. Very fast reliable and efficient.

I should have worded the question better to ask if the photo prints hold up to displaying on a refrigerator or office desk without fading quickly, and if the true colors and image quality will still be on the photos in a year or two, even if the photos are placed into a box or book that is not lignin or acid free. But I would like to say that this printer is worth the money. We have used other printers but found this to be the best for my photo booth company. The quality is excellent and the speed of print is the fastest of its kind. About 7 to 8 secs to print. Highly recommended, easy to use. I personally have never tried it with that OS since I have a MAC but I can tell you it is an amazing printer and I am very happy with it. MARTY E : Shop around. The printer itself does NOT come with any media, HOWEVER there are often sales which include a box of 4x6 media. When I purchased from Adorama I did receive a free box of media.DANIEL H : No you have to order the paper besides. Its a great printer and i would buy it again with out hesitation.MICHAEL C : NO, mine did not. also if you want 5x7 you need to buy a spacer and tray seperatly. That is my only complaint with this model. Other than that it works great

It works well with DNP printers
It comes as a kit-2 rolls of paper and 2 ribbon rolls. It is part of the DNP Dye-Sub printing system. Prints are sharp and color matching accurate. Only works with certain DNP printers.

Paper is good, customer service is not
I ordered this paper next day and paid an extra $40 to have it shipped. It still took 4 days to get here. I emailed customer service about it and they never responded. So this review is for the company itself not the paper which is always as expect.

Dnp ds40 4x6 printer pack
I photograph conferences and produce up to 4000 4x6 prints for a 4 day event. The ds40 paper is of the highest quality and produces prints that are vivid and sharp. The pauper and ribbon are very easy to load and provide 400 prints per roll. The kit comes with 2 rolls of paper and 2 ribbons. I highly recommend this product.

Needed if printing 5x7s
If printing 5x7's go ahead and get this. 4x6 tray that comes with printer is too small and 5x7's will overshoot it. 8x10 tray is too large and the 5x7's bounce out.
