I photograph conferences and produce up to 4000 4x6 prints for a 4 day event. The ds40 paper is of the highest quality and produces prints that are vivid and sharp. The pauper and ribbon are very easy to load and provide 400 prints per roll. The kit comes with 2 rolls of paper and 2 ribbons. I highly recommend this product.

If printing 5x7's go ahead and get this. 4x6 tray that comes with printer is too small and 5x7's will overshoot it. 8x10 tray is too large and the 5x7's bounce out.

Like Photomaton mentioned, I also use my DNP Printer with a Mac and Adobe Lightroom, and just like Photomaton I could only make 1 print from my DS80. Specifically, it would only print the very first print and then I would have to recycle the power on the printer to get it to print again but it would only print one photo (sheet) at a time. I checked the printer error logs and it kept saying "Incompatible Media Size", I am also pretty computer savvy so I checked, double-checked, and triple-checked various different settings while firing off accompanying test prints to see if my changes affected anything. I went through about 40 test prints over the course of a week and was VERY frustrated. Simultaneously, I also contacted DNP, and although they were more responsive than what Photomaton experienced they still didn't have an answer. We even accessed the CUPS system on the Mac (an area I'd never seen before) by visiting http:(slash slash)127.0.0.1:631/ so we could set the correct media size but that didn't fully fix the problem. Ultimately, we discovered that the latest drivers were incompatible with OS X 10.6.8 and I was advised to remove that driver and use the OLD driver which was called "DS40/80 driver for Mac OS 10.4, 10.5" on the dnphoto_com website even though it wasn't specified for my OS. After installing the OLD driver the printer began working as expected and I haven't had a problem with it since. The DS80 and DS40 both use the same driver so this should also fix Photomaton's issue too. There are only a few minor differences between the old driver and the new driver (mostly cosmetics and the ability to cut half sheets), but that won't affect the needs of most users. DNP should really put a note on their website instructing people with this issue use the OLD driver. Doing this would make setup MUCH easier.

Great Event printer, we do on the spot printing indoors and outdoors. Just did an event outside in 30 degree weather and it was fantastic. Color quality and clarity is great, 400 4X6 prints per roll = about 17 cents per print.

the only bad thing about my order was that the printer did not come with ink or paper so we had to order seperately and wait another week before we could actually use the printer. suggestion add what is needed to be useful and raise the price if needed
