Overall it is good. Lasted for 4 years then the lock mechanism failed. Really like the quick release design.

Bought my tripod, very satisfied with the build as aesthetic of it, though when I tested it out I noticed that it had a problem. The quick release baseplate wasn't properly attached to the ball head of the tripod, which lead to wiggling of the tripod. Please make sure to inspect your product before purchasing!

It's easy to use, sturdy with a modern, sleek design. In addition it comes with a great bag.

For the price there's nothing better. Even at it's normal $ I believe it's as good as anything else at that price point, but it's a no-brainer at $

Excellent tripod. Had to replace the mounting plate with an arca Swiss plate so that I can use it interchangeably with my Sirui table top tripod. A lot of flexibility and seems to be of good quality.

This tripod is exactly what I needed. Lightweight, easy to set up and adjust. And though not specifically designed for video cameras, the side to side action is very smooth for panning.

Center column is kind of floppy when extended, bigger diameter here would have helped. Just keep it all the way down for good stability. Recommend 'try before you buy' when it comes to tripods.

Very easy to set up, and it has very nice head too. It handles my D600 with 28-300 heavy lens without any problem.

I purchased this tripod to use as a travel tripod, as my primary is rather large and heavy. The price was WELL worth it even if I only survived a couple uses. So far it has held together with no problems. It seems durable, but it does present another issue: It's not a tad unstable. At full extension, a crop sensor camera with a kit lens had so much shake from a gust of wind that I could have achieved the same result hand held. Put simply, weather alone can render this tripod nearly useless. Thankfully, the wind was short-lived and I was able to get my desired shots. I think, if I had used it at a lower extension than full, it would have been FAR more solid. 5-stars for the cost and quality, minus one for the lack of stability at full extension.

This tripod has served me well for the last 4 years. I'm an amateur but have taken this pod to family reunions, on short hiking trips, on frozen lakes to capture Northern Lights and out back to shoot star trails...I really like the quick release snaps (vs some tripods that need to be twisted, the hook to hang my camera bag, and the option to put the ball head in the underside of the tripod.

Just started picking up on photographing, bought this tripod from a teacher's recommendation. It was on sale at 50% is a plus. Working well so far, will bring it out to the field soon.

This tripod is good when used as a bowed psaltery stand for a 22" instrument. Instrument makers fashion a variety of platforms that can accept the quick-release plate. It is sturdy enough for my tenor psaltery, I wouldn't try it for anything larger. than 23".

I bought this as an extra tripod to keep in the truck at all times. On the first use, I noted the ballhead just drooped too much after tightening which required constant repositioning. The connection of the head to the tripod is also weak and has some wobble to it when you press down. That's a little scary when considering your expensive gear. I'm probably going to give this away to someone with a point and shoot and just continue trusting my Manfrottos and Giottos.

I bought one for my Nikon D7000 for use with the kit Lenses nothing exotic or heavy. I took it on a trip to the US Southwest I was taking pictures in the Sedona, AZ area and was moving the tripod with camera attached to a new location the ENTIRE TRIPOD HEAD SNAPPED OFF at the legs. I found out the hard way that there is just a thin metal piece that holds the head to the tripod. So camera went on way and the lens (18-105mm) the other way and I was left with a $400 repair bill and having to replace a tripod. DON'T GO CHEAP spend the money and get a good trupod like a Manfrotto or something similar and save your self some money in the long run. Thankfully I had my vintage Agfa Isolette 3 so I was still able to take the pictures I wanted.

I am an amateur photographer and read tons of reviews for tripods for my DSLR with 200mm lens before settling for this. It is light but very sturdy and stable. The spikes were very useful in uneven terrains. The ball head is nice. This tripod does not have a pan handle so if video is your primary then you should buy a different tripod. The price is excellent. If you have big bucks to spare, get the manfrottos else get this.

Travel Tripod

Great travel tripod
The all new Dolica GX600 aluminum alloy tripod and B200 ball head is a complete support system for your camera (point-and-shoot, SLR with lens, and DSLR with lens). It is designed to be lightweight, portable, and stable for any and every occasion.
The Tripod is composed of Anodized Aluminum Alloy (AAA) and Plastic Polymer Composite (PPC). The combination of both materials maximizes the petite size and reinforced stability it provides to make every photo-shoot perfect.
Dolica also provides the comfort of using NBR foam grips for extreme weather conditions. The comfort grips are nice because you can have a tight grip and know that the tripod will NOT slip from your hands. In extreme weather conditions in a climate of below 30 degrees any metal will be unbearably cold and in an environment that has a temperature of above 90 degrees will heat any metal making it uneasy to maneuver your tripod and that is why Dolica offers the standard of NBR foam grips to this special tripod.
The sleek ball head includes a quick release plate with a 3/8 inch mount for cameras. It attaches to the ball head with a safety lock to prevent the camera from slipping off and falling while loosening your quick release plate. While you have you camera attached to the quick release plate and ball head, you can pan 360 degree and tilt up to 90 degree. You can also attach a lens (i.e. 200mm f/4) mount to the quick release plate and have the comfort of stabilizing with confidence.
The upgraded GX600 tripod has its professional function and additional upgraded features. The three major features are: four level positioning, interchangeable spike/rubber feet, and a dual purpose mount. Uneven surface can be a big issue for many photographers and that is why Dolica engineered their tripod with four levels for high to low level shots. You have the freedom to position each individual leg from a standard position to adjusting each leg at four-different levels. To decrease the chance of slippage, use rubber feet for soft surface, and spike rubber feet for rugged terrain. You can remove the hook from the dual purpose counter weight hook mount from the bottom of the center column, remove the center column, insert the counter weight hook mount on the top of the tripod (attach the camera), adjust each individual leg to ground level, and you're ready to shoot extremely low macro-shots.
The GX600B200 is completely, reliable, portable, and ready to use for your next photo-shoot!
