While the Doiron Design LS210N-SR3 Off Camera Lighting System is expertly engineered to merge the luminous output of two Nikon SB-700 speedlights, it also directs this combined light into an umbrella or softbox for optimal photographic results. This versatile lighting system is designed to work seamlessly with both digital and film cameras, making it an ideal choice for diverse photography needs.The system's unique design ensures that the light source remains centered and on-axis with the umbrella shaft, as required by the new parabolic umbrellas. The two flash heads are strategically positioned just 3/4 of an inch apart at the umbrella shaft mount. This innovative arrangement allows the umbrella shaft to pass through the light source, ensuring the light is properly focused and distributed.When using a softbox light modifier, both flash heads emit light through the center of the included speedring. This speedring not only allows for quick mounting and removal of the softbox but also ensures superior light distribution across the surface of the softbox. This is achieved by the 14 mm wide panel in place on the Nikon SB-700, which outperforms a studio light with an optional internal baffle in most applications.The LS210N-SR3 also features a built-in receptacle for a RadioPopper PX receiver with a 2-way splitter, which directs ETTL signals to both SB-700 speedlights via fiber optics. This eliminates the need for line of sight, providing full wireless ETTL capability when a RadioPopper PX transmitter is mounted to an on-camera SU-800 or master SB-700.Included with the LS210N-SR3 is a pole mounting clamp capable of mounting two Nikon SD-9 battery packs, two Quantum Turbo 2x2, or two Turbo3 battery packs.
