It usually takes several months of use to get a tripod well seasoned and broken in for use. Not this one. It comes in a crumpled and re-sealed box making it so much easier to open. I just slips out like magic. Don't bother putting this down in the surf to get that authentic just-back-from-vacation sandy grit in the tubes because it is already there waiting to make your friends jealous.

When you release the legs if you turn the knobs just a little bit too much they fall apart and fall out completely and these cheap little plastic things that hold them in place fall out with them. Very cheaply made. Would not recommend.

I wouldn't use this as my main support. It is small and light. I love and normally pay extra for small and light in most equipment. But tripods are for stability. So if you don't hike with your tripod...I wouldn't use this for a main camera mount. I have three of these and use them to support sliders and such. Two of these don't hold s slider the most securely - and that is using two or even three of them. The light multi section legs are prone to flex. So much so that I purposely flex them outward to push against each other to make stability acceptable. All tripods can use this, but these fleet stick really NEED the flex, and a lot of it. Also, the twist locks are a bit sticky and not smooth. The heads are rudimentary at best. But they are good for easy to transport secondary supports.

It is short(12.5" folded) and light, yet sturdy enough when you need to. It's perfect for hike trail. You could convert one leg into a hiking pole and converting it is very easy. There is a sign for lock/ ununlock on one leg to make it into a monopod leg, which is nice. I wish I could have another so that I could have a pair which will be better for the balance in hiking. I like it very much. The reason I gave 4 stars is ball head , particularly quick release. It is not sturdy enough especially,to put my DSLR FX body. I think it might be alright for small DSLR or mirror less camera. So I replaced it with my extra Benro B3 ballhead and I am alright and feel it is holding the camera and lens well. It is almost 5 stars to me with reservation. Also the price is good and I chose Dolica pro line over others. I am excited to test it more in the field when I visit national parks in September.I like it an chose the height when folded because could put it in the backpack which is huge point and yet serves the purpose of the use expected. I highly recommend this for a travel tripod.

I just purchased a Tri Pod to use with my Plein Air easel and I can’t get it to work. No instructions came with the Tri Pod so I am at a lost and plan on calling to find out if it’s defective or If its just user error. My biggest complaint is not NO instructions!

It was a last minute purchase for my trip to Central America. Used it to photograph sunset at the Tikal site. Lightweight and easily fits in a small backpack. Never used a ball head tripod before but figured it out very easily. Very useful addition to my travel photo gear.

I found the attachment was difficult to do and time consuming. I also did not like hand screwing every section of leg either.

While this is not premium tripod, it still works great. Remarkably solid even fully extended. I use it as my backpacking and long hike tripod and haven't been disappointed yet. A great deal.
