For professionals in the video production industry, the DSC Labs ChromaDuMonde 24 Standard CamAlign Chip Chart is an essential tool for achieving optimal color calibration. This 21.3x13" chart is meticulously designed to work seamlessly with virtually any video camera worldwide, making it a versatile asset for both local and international projects.
Incorporating the latest SMPTE 274M (ITU-R BT.709) international colorimetry standards, this chart ensures universal compatibility, making it a reliable choice for video professionals across the globe. It's not just a tool, but a necessity for enhancing camera performance and elevating the production value of your images.
The ChromaDuMonde 24 Standard CamAlign Chip Chart is equally effective in engineering or production work. It serves as a valuable instrument for evaluating a camera's color matrix and gamma using a waveform/vectorscope. This feature is particularly beneficial when reproducing skin tones or custom colors, such as turquoise and purple, which often occur at prism crossovers.
This chart also offers the convenience of on-the-fly camera adjustments, allowing you to instantly gauge the impact of hue changes on surrounding colors. This is especially useful when working with green screens or other digital special effects.
The chart's information can be recorded and used as a baseline reference in post-production, ensuring consistency across all your work. By recording the chart with every scene and setting change, you can maintain a uniform color balance throughout your project.
The ChromaDuMonde 24 Standard CamAlign Chip Chart generates a precise hexagonal-shaped display for HD, SD, and NTSC television images. It features 11-step crossed grayscales and 100 IRE white and true-black chips, enabling you to set the gamma on your camera with precision.
The chart's 24 color signals can be positioned in HD vectorscope boxes and intermediate positions for accurate colorimetry. While primarily designed for HD TV use, calibrated offsets are provided for those who wish to determine the theoretical colorimetric differences between HD and NTSC standards.
All ColorDuMonde charts, including this model, feature a separation between the grayscale and color bars. This model includes six vector colors and 18 evenly spaced intermediate colors, offering a comprehensive range of hues for precise color calibration.
