Review Summary
Known as the Swiss Army knife of camera mounts and braces. DVMultiRig is the perfect camera stabilization system for the new age of HD-SLR cameras as well as still compatible with the older tapeless and HD video cameras.
If you've seen the other reviews (or even the DVTEC website), you know the DVMultiRig, aka MultiRigPro, is super-compact and easy to store/transport. Considering it can be used as a full shoulder brace system with a support pod, it is ridiculous and amazing how small this is. With all this, DVMultiRig is also ULTRA LIGHT.
Once you've played with the different setups a few times, it takes absolutely no time to configure from fully folded under the camera to ready to shoot. That's pretty cool considering you can be shooting on your tripod one minute, and in another minute, be running around with a full rig support.
Shoulder shooting with DVMultiRig can be done in two configurations: 1) Using the back attached bar, the typical setup has the back bar facing downwards (good for placing the accessory plate on the back for a battery, etc.). 2) Turn the back bar sideways and let it wrap around your neck. This provides a very stable and comfortable shooting style, and allows use of the left hand to make camera adjustments without any sway.
Want to shoot in a low-angle tripod-type mode? Perhaps you need gravity-balanced handheld mode a la Steadicam. Maybe you need just the traditional shoulder-mounted mode. DVMultiRig does it all. Now you can change your shooting mode based on your needs...on the fly...no tools required.
When you need a floating shot, use DVMultiRig in the Stabilizer mode. The natural balance of gravity against the weight of your camera combines with the position of your arms to provide silky smooth results, rivaled only by high-end body-mounted stabilizers.
Need to fly low? Use the shoulder bar as a stabilizer handle, and you have a profesional low-angle mode device. Get smooth and fluid perspective shots and cool defining shots. The grips easily convert into tripod legs, too, if you needa rock-steady low angle shot, without needing a dedicated tripod.
Want to go back to shoulder support shooting? Move the shoulder bar and your areready to go. Be prepared for any run-and-gun situation, or use the support pod for extended handheld shots.
