I previously had a labelwriter 450. It had an address book and I could easily select the address from the list to print. I can't import my address list and this one has no address book other than Google or Microsoft contacts. I don't use those for work! I have to constantly fix the text box with this software. I wish there was a choice to use different software.

I upgraded my Dymo label printer although the one I had worked perfectly. I did so because I need the newest macOS. I expected that the newer model printer and print software would work. Imagine my dismay when I got the message that the software wouldn't work with the next upgrade. The message went on to suggest that I contact a company hired by Dymo to presumably develop software. (No info on how to contact them.) The most frustrating thing is that although I reached out to Dymo software support and registered this "showstopper" issue in an earlier review, no one from the company has cared enough to reach out and help me.

It comes with labels but doesn't tell you the model number of those labels and the printer cannot determine which labels you have in there so it was annoying to try and tell it which labels are in there. Most people can't eyeball 1/2 inch differences. For as much as this costs it should be able to automatically tell what labels you've loaded. On top of that, it jammed immediately. I kept trying to print a label and since it was jammed it wouldn't work. Then, when I finally fixed the jam, it reprinted every single time I had previously tried to print so I ended up with 12 labels I didn't need with no way to cancel. Such a waste. The software is really bad and not intuitive. If you want to change the margins trying to drag and drop randomly will work and not work. There's no way to automatically make a font the maximum size for the height of the label you want to print, you have to keep trying to pull it larger. I write software for a living so seeing something like this is especially frustrating since these are all ux issues that should have been identified immediately. There's also no way I can see to adjust the kerning or spacing of letters which is really annoying and such an easy thing to include. There is a button on the front that flashes and I have no clue what it does. Oh, and there is no included manual, you have to go download it.

I've used this label writer before, and had a somewhat difficult time with the tape cartridge. But this one has been amazing for the short time I have used it. I have had no issues with the tape cartridge so far.

The Dymo Labelwriter 450 Duo is supposed to be print two different types of labels but I've spent the past two days reading all of the help topics and exploring the system and so far have found no way to print from the lower casette. Neither the manual or any help topics address this issue and the software does not recognize my machine or give me the option to choose which label I want to use. Also, trying to import data to customize a label has been unsuccessful and whoever wrote the help/manual completely failed to provide any useful instruction.

The software with this printer is worthless if you bought it to print multiple barcodes. If you import a list of barcodes, it changes your label format and adds characters to your barcodes, rendering them useless for scanning specific data. Customer service is non-existent and has yet to address the issue as reported. I bought 4 of these for an office and can't use them for the intended purpose.

Software needs updating. Incompatibility problems with tapes that Dymo lists as compatible. Dymo customer service sends directions for Windows 7/8. Windows 10 has been out for a couple of years now. I'd look at another model from Dymo.

We use this Dymo Duo printer at all of our company locations inside and outside of the US. We are very happy with the printer and have never had any issues with the unit or supplies.

Makes it perfect for use with DYMO Postage. When you don't need fancy shipping labels, Dymo Postage can be a free service, just buy a roll of postage stamps. Print whatever amount you need. And the Laminated Labels is a great bonus !

This printer is easy to install and easy to use. I went from a small portable unit to this one. I wished I had done this a long time ago. This printer is so easy to use and is very fast.

So convenient to use to print mailing/shipping labels, file folder labels, postage and anything else! Saves me tons of time! Good selection of labels to use. Was so good, that I bought the Twin Turbo! Try it...you won't know how you lived without it!

I LOVE this thing! I got mine used. I've had it for years- it still works like new. Mailing labels & shipping labels are EASY and the software generates bar codes the USPS can use so mail processes quicker through the USPS sort facilities. The software is very good. It allows importing of PNG files as well as GIF & JPG. This is AWESOME FOR CREATIVES. Since the software is meant for office uses there's no kerning or leading in the typesetting process. This is okay. I use Photoshop or Illustrator at a 16-bit color depth and work in ultra-black to get the best contrast, exporting to PNG. On large labels: My illustrated characters are printed on shipping labels. I distribute them as self promotion items and everybody delights in receiving them. On tape labels: I use (primarily the 19mm for design deco-tapes when I mail packages & envelopes that are meant to promote my creative work. I wish the larger width tapes had more color choices. It is amazing what I can do with this printer and everyone just loves getting limited edition stickers and customized deco-tape on their mail and packages. FUN FUN FUN I do wish the labels wouldn't fade when outdoors in direct sunlight. I should note this isn't a good medium for urban art of that sort. This technology is not meant to produce labels for outdoor use unless intended to be temporary.

It's easy to make your own address library in it. It can count. It can be feeded easily with any kind of thermopaper. It's quick. It can print on tapes anything you want - your logo, your fond and text in any language. So you can make your business or anything in your stile.

This 450 Duo was an upgrade from a 320. I like the added Tape printing on the Duo, and it's faster with labels. The software seems more full featured on the Duo, with its more word processor-like look, but still seems a little "clunky" for a long-time Mac User. I had some trouble getting the former address databases to import and stick, so I did copy and paste most of them. Maybe that was a needless mistake on my part, but once in, they worked predictably. Loading Paper label rolls and Tape cartridges is really a snap on these units. I downloaded the very latest driver (8.3, after having loaded an earlier version, and the newest one looked a little better, but I'm not sure if there was much functional difference. Overall, as a Mac User, I've been quite happy with two DYMO units, including this new 450 DUO.

I received this in my bzzkit from [@] , I am always apprehensive about hooking new things up to my computer as it always seems like I run into technical difficulties. Let me say, I installed the software, plugged it in, and was on my way. No problems. I didn't even need to read the manual to get started. So far I have had no problems with it, in fact I am really enjoying using it. I just wish I would have been able to get the bigger printer as I sell on both ebay and Amazon, and I always use the large labels with the barcodes on them. Having that printer would make my internet label printing so much more streamlined and quicker... All in all, I am very happy with this label printer...

I love the compact size, approximately 5" wide by 7" high and 7" long. I also like that it uses thermal labels and never needs ink. I make jewelry and am going to put price and description labels on all my pieces. I am a member of BzzAgent and was fortunate to get into their Dymo LabelWriter Campaign

The newest version of the software makes it very difficult to find the menus for using tapes instead of labels. Since I use tape infrequently, I have to keep looking up in manual where to find it, since its not intuitive.

The 450 Duo is a good printer if you don't use the tape. (Labels only) Buy a twin label instead. I tryed to get help when I first got it but the usual BS and generic replies are all I got. It is now three years old and very well used and works fine for labels only.
