The case has its own buttons covering the 4 buttons on the camera down the right side. The rubber buttons covering the original appear to be easily cut out exposing the originals which are labeled. These are semi-frequently used, especially by a semi-pro such as myself. The removal of the coverings will not significantly expose the buttons themselves to harm. I plan to 'cut them carefully out" with a razor.

The cover fits perfectly and allows for easy use of all functions of the camera. Worth the money.

I became a fan of having silicon covers for my camera bodies when I purchased the first one several years ago for my Nikon D70s. The cover provided the level of protection that I was looking for and helped to keep the camera body looking new and added to the resale value of the body when it was traded in for a new one. Since then, I have purchased them for all of my cameras and this one is no exception. I opened the box for the easyCover and then took the camera out of the box (new) and installed it. I did this even prior to installing the battery. The unfortunate thing was that I purchased the MB-D14 at the same time and once the easyCover is installed on the body the battery grip does not seat well on the bottom of the camera because the cover folds around the bottom of the camera body and the electrical contacts from the easyCover hinders the grip from attaching correctly and it also makes reaching some of the controls on the body difficult without moving the cover. I elected to keep the easyCover on the body and remove the battery grip since the appearance of the body was more important than having the battery grip installed. Other than that and the fact that you have to really work to keep the cover seated on the hotshot it is excellent. I would recommend it to anyone that is interested in making sure that their body maintains that new out of the box appearance.
