About Electro-Harmonix HOG2
Just imagine the power of controlling ten polyphonic, glitch-free voices, ranging from two octaves below to four above your guitar's pitch. The Electro-Harmonix HOG2 Harmonic Octave Generator/Guitar Synthesizer is an innovative tool that can simultaneously generate multiple octaves and harmonics from your input signal. Whether you're playing single notes, arpeggios, or full chords, the HOG2 will accurately track every note, enhancing your musical creativity.
This advanced guitar synthesizer is equipped with seven Expression Modes, allowing you to modify your sounds using a standard Expression Pedal, a MIDI Controller, or the Expression Button on the HOG2 itself. For further sound sculpting, the HOG2 features an Amplitude Envelope Generator and a 2nd-Order Low Pass Resonant Filter.
The HOG2 is designed with an input jack for connecting your instrument using a standard 1/4" instrument cable. It also includes a direct output jack that outputs a buffered version of the input signal, and a main output jack for connecting to your amplifier, mixer, or computer.
The HOG2 also offers a MIDI In Jack for external control over almost every parameter on the HOG2's top panel, as well as loading/saving presets. The footswitch jack allows you to connect the Electro-Harmonix HOG2 Foot Controller to access up to 100 presets.
The HOG2's EXP. Mode Switch and LEDs offer seven different Expression modes, selectable with a simple press of the EXP. MODE button. The Spectral Gate Button and LED indicate when the Spectral Gate function is active and in the signal path.
The HOG2 also features a range of sliders to control the output volume of various voices, from -2 octaves to +4 octaves. The Envelope Lower & Upper Sliders control the amplitude Attack or Decay of the voices, while the Filter Frequency Slider controls the cutoff or peak frequency of the 2nd-Order lowpass filter. The Master VOL Slider sets the overall output volume, and the Dry Output Slider controls the output volume of your original, unaffected dry signal.
