The Ranger Freelites are amazing and proven for location lighting... they have much more power than the quadras and are on par with Profoto in all regards as far as power, recycle etc... I added this head to my RX Speed pack along side with an A head for location fashion work. Couldn't be happier. I purchased the Freelite S head from Adorama as they had it listed in the DEMO section.... I feel like I got a total steal as the item was not shown to used at all IMO and I will be looking to sc...

The FreeLite S is dedicated to the new Elinchrom Ranger battery-powered pack. Smaller, lighter, and more portable, the Free Lite S retains all the advantages of its "bigger brother" lampheads. The Free Lite S features a 16ft, low resistance power cable, modeling light switch and safety fuse. In addition, our patented "double bayonet" mounting ring assures full compatibility with Elinchrom's extensive line of reflectors, softboxes, and light banks. The Free Lite S uses our traditional, longer-life standard duration flashtube, preferred for still life, portrait, and general applications. It features a 2400Ws standard duration flashtube with a 100W modeling lamp.
