Questions & Answers

Regina T : What trigger set would I need to set this off with my Canon T3?
Regina T : As far as quality of light is concerned. Would you choose this Elinchrom model or Flashpoint?randy d : I have been very happy with my Flashpoint. I have never use the Elinchrom but have used Normans in the past. The Flashpoint is as good if not better than my Normans.TIM M : I have no experience with Flashpoint lights, but the quality of light from the Elinchrom unit is incredible.CHRISTOPHER M : Sorry, don't know anything about the Elinchrom. I have 3 Flashpoints. Here is what I have to say: in whatever direction you choose to go, be prepared to stick with it. I chose Flashpoints and all my modifiers thereafter are based on that choice. I have not regretted my decision even though the Flashpoints aren't as "flashy" as all the other vendors. They work, they take abuse, and then they work again. I will say you can get more w/s per $ with the Flashpoints. If you are comparing A $500 Elinchrome, maybe you should look at how many w/s your can get for $500 in the Flashpoint line. That would seal the deal for me.
DAVID I : Is the light-stand mount/umbrella holder really made of fragile plastic as I read somewhere? If so, is it easily removable (screw-on) for replacement by a standard metal mount?HERB B : I have this light and yes it is made of a hard plastic and I have never had a problem with the mount at all. I don't know if a metal replacement is made but I'm sure it would be a custom fit if not. Great lights for being lightweight and versatile. I have had problems with the transmitter working all the time. It is a little finicky. Good luck!TIM M : Doesn't look too fragile and I would guess you could replace it. There is also one in the face of the light, but that has to be a smaller shaft to use - not standard size.
