Shopper : What is a difference between Elinchrom D-Lite RX2 and Elinchrom D-Lite RX2 it ? What does "it" mean?
Robert F : The modeling light wont turn on. The LED indicates, and the prop menu agrees, that it should be on maximum. This is a new unit, and bulb. Any suggestions?HERBERT P : The ultimate test is to take the bulb out of a standard light socket, screw the Elinchrom bulb in, and turn the light on. If the bulb is good, it will be VERY bright. Don't look directly at it when you turn it on. Turn it off. If the bulb is bad, the light won't come on. If you have a VOM, try a continuity and resistance check. If the filament is broken in the bulb, you won't get a continuity signal. The bulb's resistance should be about 81 ohms. If the filament is broken, the resistance should be infinite. Even though the bulb is new, shock can still easily break the filament. If the bulb is good, something is wrong in the flash circuitry. Send the unit back for replacement.LOUIS H : Try screw bulb properly...if not will not work same thing happen to me LouMANUEL R : I received a unit with a bad bulb, adorama quickly replaced it free of charge, its hard to tell whether a modelling light is bad, but if the unit is saying its on, it should work, otherwise its a bad unit or bulb, its possible the bulb could have been damaged in shipping, other than that I don't know what else to check, maybe the fuse, does the strobe work?

Great buy for starters

I bought this to start off in studio photography and so far everything has been going well. I have only had this for a few weeks, but I'm adjusting to everything pretty fast. Easy to set up and break down. Definitely looking forward to adding more to the studio.

Excellent for the price.

I have been a full time pro commercial photographer for 35+ years. These lights do not appear to be as durable as the Speedotron Black Line lights I have been using for more than 30 years. But, I'm willing to give up some of that long term durablity for the light weight and low cost of these light units. These units are very light weight and easy to use. This set came with three bags. That really is too many bags. Two bags, that were a bit larger, would have been better. That would have been 5-stars.
