Simply the Best Strobes for the money
I shoot mostly in Hi Speed mode on Elinchrom I freeze motion with 1/200 shutter speed and its fantastic, also you could use 1/8000 shutter speed with HS mode with no problems, also I love all the new features, like Sequence, Delay and Strobo Modes motions and 20 frames per second.
The Elinchrom ELC Pro HD 500/500 To Go 2-Light Kit includes 2 x ELC Pro HD 500, 2 x Umbrella Wide Reflector 90deg. 16cm, EL-Skyport Transmitter SPEED and ProTec Bag. The Elinchrom ELC Pro HD 500 500W/s Compact Flash Head is packed with professional features that can be expected from a flash head of this caliber and added quite a bit more. Short recycling times coupled with fast flash durations make freeze-motion, stop-action shooting possible. In fact, up to 20 frames per second is possible at minimum power. An intelligent low noise, temperature-activated fan keeps the head cool and lengthens the life of both the flash tube and modeling lamp. A pre-flash detector lets you integrate your on-camera flash into your studio system.
Power, variable continuously from 7 to 500W/s, can be mimicked by the 300W proportional modeling lamp to preview your effects. Although Elinchrom provides one, you can swap the sync cord with a separately purchased 8-channel transceiver for wireless triggering from your camera. The head has one built-in to receive the signal. Flash modes allow you to address special situations. The Sequential Mode enables triggering up to 20 ELCs in bursts or in a continuous cycle. Delayed Mode offers a choice of first or second curtain syncing while Strobo Mode allows single frame stroboscopic action sequences. Finally, the auto-sensing multi-voltage power supply means that you can use the ELC Pro HD 500 anywhere in the world.
The reflector is designed to give a wide, even coverage. The important requirement of an Umbrella Reflector is that when used in conjunction with an umbrella it is evenly filled with light (no central hot spot) whilst keeping a minimum distance between the flash tube and the umbrella. It is also important that the profile of the reflector is not so wide that it masks the umbrella.
The ELS Transmitter Speed enables the triggering of units attached via a Universal Skyport module, all units with built-in Skyport and all Elinchrom units to which a Transceiver RX is attached. The additional control of power settings and modeling lamp on/off can be achieved on all Elinchrom units with built-in Skyport RX (D-lite RX One, D-lite RX 2/4, BRX 250/500 and Ranger Quadra Hybrid) and on all Elinchrom units, which require the Transceiver RX (Digital RX 1200/2400, Ranger RX/Speed/Speed AS and Style RX 300/600/1200).
The ProTec Bag Poly is a new robust shoulder bag, which can carry safely for example two Elinchrom compacts, such as D-lite RX, BRX and Style RX 300 / 600 or even two Quadra battery packs and two Quadra heads with some accessories.
