Good strobes, bad luck
I have mostly used these (older version) at the studio I work at. They have never given me any issues in the +1 year I've had access to them. They're reliable, but they overheated a few times (takes a few seconds to cycle). I guess they did this because it was in summer and we hadn't installed the AC yet.
With the older version, no problems whatsoever. These are a newer version made in India. So far, so good...except I had the bad luck of having one of the strobes locking mechanism break on me while I was using the Portalite softbox. Straight out of the box, took the protective cap off, attached the Portalite, shot a test and the mechanism wouldn't release the speed ring. Seemed like the problem was inside the strobe's lock mechanism.
I really like these, just a bit bummed out that one of them failed on me straight out of the box and the exchange with the store has been a bit challenging. With more usage time, I could go deeper into the comparison of the older and the newer versions of the strobe.

Incredible Value
Light too hot? Click the button on the Skyport to bring it down a stop.
Need more light at f/22? Click the button on the Skyport and you're set.
Need one light at full power and the other one at 1/2? Skyport allows you
to have different channels. I so love these lights!

Easy to use
This is my first lighting kit and am very satisfied with the ease of set up and use. The sky port makes it even easier and more flexible. I'll be adding some more modifiers to make it both a studio and location kit.

Professional Equipment = Pro Results
This is an excellent product for studio lighting indoor or outdoor.
For photographer's who's shooting style requires maximum portability, get the Ranger RX or the Ranger Quadra kit/s.
For computer control of strobes, get the Style RX 300, 600, or 1200 Elinchrom strobes.
Elinchrom, its what Pro's use. Product rating 10/10

I would certainly buy this product again
I bought these lights for my first home studio lighting kit. I wanted reliable, easy to use, versatile and inexpensive. I got all the above with this kit and some extra's that made my shooting more flexible immediately. Everything is easy about these lights. They also store very lightly and compactly.
