Its deep shape allows the light to amplify inside the box before coming out providing a 'punchy' or 'edgy' light quality.  &#149; Leave the front baffle on and it is a traditional softbox providing luscious, soft wrap-around light. Take the front baffle off and the box takes on the qualities of traditional beauty lighting.    &#149; The Rotalux Deep Inverse Octa will provide all the benefits of both softboxes. 

I use this to light people, particularly women. I am able to mount Elinchrom studio heads, Quadra heads and Speedotron heads with adapters. It is good for portraits or one or two people full length.

I mostly use it configured as an indirect softbox with the front screen on and sometimes without the front screen on - like a large silver umbrella. I have not used it as a direct softbox or reflector.

It deploys quickly and is usable on location (the larger Beauty Light is not). It is lightly built and care must be taken when packing and mounting to a boom. It can be anchored by a single mobile helper, but it will sail in the wind due to its size and slightly paraolic shape.
