ED 80 is a winner!

Overall this is a great triplet refractor telescope.  You do need a field flattener for imaging, but not needed for visual observing.  There is very little chromatic aberration.  The views are crystal clear and contrast is great. The focuser gives fine control for sharp focus and it stays that way for the night.  To achieve focus with a DSLR you are going to use one or both of the included spacers.   I use one spacer.  This gives a focus with the DSLR at about 40mm focuser travel and about 5mm with the included star diagonal for visual observing.  The problem with using a spacer is it does not fit in the bag nor the box anymore without modifying the foam padding for the box.The telescope comes with a proprietary finder scope base only.  The aftermarket community has different base plates for the standard dovetail style everyone else uses.  At this price point, a finder scope should be included.  A red dot would be good for this scope due to its wide field of view.
