BRUCE D : will this unit fit on my Orion Sirius EQ-G Computerized GoTo Telescope Mount or do I need to buy an adapter to use it? Thank you bruce DixonGORDON G : Don't know for sure, Bruce, but I believe it will fit on the EQ-G fine. The scope is well within the weight limit for that mount and the mounting ring assembly that ships with the scope has a standard dovetail bar. I think it will slide right in.
Kelly F : I am thinking about getting this scope for all around lunar and planetary plus some astrophotography. Have you been happy with yours?JOHN C : The Comet Hunter is a very nice scope! The easy answer is I am very happy with it. Since I am also interested in astrophotography, I had ES send me a modified focuser which allows for tighter lock-down with a heavier DSLR camera on board. Their customer service department was excellent in helping with this. The more difficult answer is there are many other factors in being able to do astrophotography successfully, namely getting perfect tracking - which is a more function of choosing the right mount and using auto-guiding equipment, etc, etc.

The Comet Hunter comes standard with a two-inch, 30mm focal length eyepiece with a wide 70° apparent field. This eyepiece combined with the short focal length of the telescope produce an amazing 2.86 ° true field of view with a 6.2mm exit pupil. Each Comet Hunter special edition telescope will come with a certificate signed by David Levy.
