This innovative telescope is essentially an upgraded version of the ES-ED0806-01, boasting superior Hoya FCD100 optics, which share similar characteristics with Ohara FPL-53. Thanks to technological advancements, we've successfully initiated the mass production of this high-performance optical glass, which sits at the pinnacle of the FCD family.

Our telescope employs a combination of this optical glass and high refractive index glass to achieve an unprecedented level of chromatic aberration correction. The Hoya FCD100 is widely regarded as the best glass ever produced by Hoya, ensuring the highest quality images for your stargazing sessions.

Designed with a true diffraction-limited optical design, this telescope is the perfect grab-and-go instrument for spontaneous astronomical observation. It features an air-spaced triplet optical design that virtually eliminates chromatic aberrations, generating brilliant high-contrast images. This is achieved by combining genuine HOYA FCD100 extra-low dispersion (ED) glass and proprietary EMD enhanced multi-layer coatings on all optical surfaces.

The telescope also includes a durable 2.5" Hexagonal focuser with a rigid design and strong support, capable of loading up to 10 lbs of gear. Despite its standalone capabilities, the compact 80mm telescope can also be mounted on a larger telescope, adding versatility to your astrophotography experience by separating the guiding and imaging duties.

The ED80 Classic White f/6 Air Spaced Triplet with Hoya FCD100 optics comes with an Integrated Dew Shield, a 480mm focal length, a 2.5" HEX Focuser, and an Integrated Vixen-Style Dovetail. An Explore Finder Scope Base is pre-installed on the scope, and it features a 99% Reflective 2" Diagonal. The telescope weighs 7.5lbs. Please note that the case and Finder Scope are not included.
