Over the years, Explore Scientific's FCD100 Series ED127 127mm f/7.5 Air-Spaced Aluminum Apochromatic Triplet Refractor Telescope has become a favorite among stargazers and astronomy enthusiasts. This high-quality, durable telescope is designed to reveal the intricate beauty of celestial bodies, from the rugged lunar terrain to the tranquil structure of Saturn's rings, and even the brightest deep sky gems of the Messier catalog.
This sophisticated telescope is essentially an upgraded version of the ES-ED127075-01, boasting superior Hoya FCD100 optics, which share similar characteristics with the renowned Ohara FPL-53. The innovative design of this telescope is diffraction-limited, making it an ideal choice for spontaneous stargazing sessions.
The advanced air-spaced triplet optical design of this telescope virtually eliminates chromatic aberrations. It produces brilliant, high-contrast images by combining genuine HOYA FCD100 extra-low dispersion (ED) glass with proprietary EMD enhanced multi-layer coatings on all optical surfaces. This ensures that every celestial object you observe is displayed with stunning clarity and detail.
The ED127 telescope also features a robust 2.5" Hexagonal focuser, designed to provide rigid support and accommodate up to 10lbs of gear. This two-speed 2" rack-and-pinion focuser allows for smooth and precise adjustments, enhancing your viewing experience.
This model comes in a classic white finish, which not only adds to its aesthetic appeal but also enhances visibility against the dark sky. It features an integrated dew shield, a 952mm focal length, and a cradle ring with handle and Losmandy Style Dovetail Plate. An Explore Finder Scope Base is pre-installed on the scope, and it comes with a 99% reflective 2" diagonal. The telescope weighs 18lbs, making it a portable option for your stargazing adventures. Please note that the case and finder scope are not included.
In summary, the FCD100 Series ED127 127mm f/7.5 Air-Spaced Aluminum Apochromatic Triplet Refractor Telescope is a testament to Explore Scientific's commitment to providing high-quality, reliable, and innovative astronomy equipment.
