Questions & Answers

DAVID B : How do you keep the Altitude Lock Handle from turning and being blocked by the Dovetail Lock Knob?
Shopper : Are you able to get a drive motor for this mount and does it come with weights?DANNY H : No, This Is Not A EQ Mount.MARTIN C : This mount does not come with weight and you can't install a drive motor. It's exclusively for "grab-and-go" and for that purpose it is an excellent mount.William K : This mount is stable and light. It should be for a grab and go scope. I love mine. It has smooth slow motion controls and a solid aluminum frame. An 80mm-102mm triplet would go nicely with this one. I have a 127mm Mak-Cass hooked up with rings and vixin rail. If I was to do it all over, I would have gotten the 80mm.BRUCE M : I've never purchased or used this mount. Ir looks spindly. Why not consider an Orion SkyView Pro mount for $100 more. I have one and am pleased with its performance. It is robust, has counterweights and had two different motor options (tracking and tracking with goto).JOHN S : This mount is not made to be fitted for any type of drive motor; it is completely manual. Also, it does not come with any type of counterweights because none are necessary. You can check the Adorama site for "go-to" or computerized mounts and "go-to" telescope packages.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?Jonathan G : Was looking for a simple Alt Az mount to place my 8” Meade LX85 SC optical tube on. This one seemed like a decent option (metal build, fine adjustment knobs, etc.).MILES S : Good reviewsPAUL J : qualityROBERT H : Have explore scientific telescope to fit.MICHAEL E : I was looking for a lightweight alt- azimuth mount for my new refractor and this seemed like a good choice.

Experience the precision and stability of the Explore Scientific Twilight I Alt-Azimuth Adjustable Head Mount and Tripod, the ideal accessory for amateur astronomers and stargazers seeking a reliable and user-friendly platform for their small-to-medium size telescopes. This mount is engineered with geared slow-motion controls, complete with flexible cable adjustments, allowing for meticulous altitude and azimuth fine-tuning to effortlessly track celestial bodies across the night sky.

Constructed with a robust metal frame, the Twilight I tripod offers a continuously adjustable height feature, ensuring durability and adaptability for a variety of terrains and observation positions. Its adjustable angle head sets it apart as a lighter and more versatile option compared to the Twilight II mount, without compromising on the smooth operation and versatility that are hallmarks of Explore Scientific's dual head designs.

The Twilight I's single head configuration streamlines its design, reducing weight and enhancing portability, making it the quintessential "grab-n-go" solution for astronomers on the move. Whether you're setting up for a night of deep-sky exploration or quickly relocating to chase a clearer view, this mount and tripod combination delivers the mobility and ease of use that are essential for spontaneous astronomical pursuits.

Compatible with a range of telescopes, the Twilight I is particularly well-suited for the Explore Scientific ED80, ED102, AR102, and BRESSER Messier Series telescopes. It also accommodates most brand small-to-medium telescopes equipped with a Vixen-style dovetail mounting plate. While designed for lighter scopes, the Twilight I can also support heavier models such as the ED127 and Comet Hunter, offering a practical solution in situations where larger, less transportable tripods and mounts are impractical, such as during travel or remote expeditions.

Embrace the craftsmanship and attention to detail that are synonymous with Explore Scientific products. The Twilight I Alt-Azimuth Adjustable Head Mount and Tripod is not just a piece of equipment; it's an invitation to unlock the wonders of the universe with unparalleled control and comfort.
