Assurion is one of the biggest scams out there and plans are sold by Navy Exchange!

A great radio, full of features and a good experience with Adorama

Did a lot of research for the right radio that received shortwave, amateur, and aircraft bands and eventually came down to the Eton Elite Executive. I was into this hobby when younger and was a ham radio operator although now just want to scan the airwaves with a simple portable radio. One very important function is singel sideband SSB and the Elite has both selectable upper/lower SSB. THis radio is full of great features in which all seem to work very well. I won't list them all as your research will provide this info. So far the radio has preformed very well and I am pleased. The construction and appearance is top-notch. You can receive quite a bit of signals with the build in antenna, but to really enjoy shortwave and the amature bands, you need at least a longwire antenna and I also recommend a good ground. This is my first purchase from Adorama and all aspects of the purchase went very well and would purchase from them again. Shipping was fast and arrived with no damage. If you are looking for a radio with these functions you will not go wrong with the Elite.

I'm Really Impressed!

This is a great portable receiver with big features at a fair price. It's not very difficult to learn how to use the tuning and bandwidth controls. I was really impressed once I plugged some high quality ear buds in. The audio came alive and weak signal readability was greatly improved. It works well on short wave with the whip antenna but is even better with a commercial wire reel antenna designed for portable SW radios. Medium wave and FM broadcast reception is very good. The attenuation feature is useful too.

Listen to the World Band Radio, Ham Radio Operators, and Air Traffic with this great unit.

I'm a licensed ham radio operator, with a radio collection of over 60 radios. I recently bought one of these radios and highly recommend it. If you are a novice to shortwave radio, or being able to listen to ham radio conversations, this may take you a little time to appreciate; but eventually; you will understand the adventure of radio. It's the "original" wireless device. This is excellent investment, which is currently selling most elsewhere for $ Add a 20 ft. wind up wire antenna to this, and you'll be able to hear what possibilities exist, from this type of radio. I live in OR, and at night I can hear from San Diego to Calgary, CA and east to New Mexico & Denver. The FM audio is also very nice. This is a quality radio, as you'll understand as soon as you see it. Highly recommended.
