The EVH 5150III is equipped with innovative dual-concentric controls, allowing for precise gain and volume level matching across its three distinct channels. Channel one offers pristine clean tones, while channel two introduces overdrive and heavy gain, reminiscent of the EVH 5150III 100S. Channel three, on the other hand, is all about liquid distortion, providing a full spectrum of tonal possibilities.
Each channel features its own set of controls for a customized sound experience. Channels one and two share an EQ (low, mid, high), while channel three boasts its own EQ controls. All channels also benefit from global presence, resonance, and reverb controls.
The EVH 5150III is loaded with seven JJ ECC83 (12AX7) preamp tubes and two JJ 6L6 power tubes, offering adjustable power output from 50 watts down to one watt. It also features a single input, rear-panel selectable output impedance (4, 8, or 16 ohms), parallel speaker outputs, MIDI input, preamp output, effects loop, and a headphone jack that mutes the power amp.
For seamless onstage switching, a four-button footswitch controls all three channels and reverb. The amplifier's cabinet, constructed from durable birch with special internal baffling, ensures tight and increased bass response. The combo is completed with vintage-style chicken-knobs, a red LED jewel indicator, a molded black plastic top handle, and pop-out casters. An EVH Accessory high-quality fitted cover is also available for this model.
