The Wolfgang Special's robust, graphite-reinforced bolt-on quartersawn maple neck is carved and rolled to the precise specifications of Eddie Van Halen, featuring a hand-rubbed urethane back finish for a smooth, comfortable grip. This guitar is primed for high-performance play, perfect for energetic riffs and blazing leads.
The 12"-16" compound radius ebony fingerboard is a testament to its durability and innovative design. It boasts 22 jumbo frets and pearloid dot inlays, providing a smooth and reliable playing surface. The guitar also features a conveniently located spoke wheel at the base of the neck, making truss rod adjustments easier than ever.
The Wolfgang Special is equipped with a pair of flagship custom-designed EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbucking pickups, mounted directly to the body. These pickups provide dynamic and articulate voicing, along with endless sustain for powerful chords and melody lines.
The guitar also features a sturdy and dependable EVH-branded Floyd Rose locking trem and Floyd Rose locking nut. These work in harmony to maintain precise tuning, even with extreme changes in pitch. The EVH D-Tuna allows for accurate retuning to drop-D and back at the flick of a finger. The low-friction volume control ensures smooth swells, while the high-friction tone control prevents accidental tone shifting.
