This Bracket is the very same as an older Bracket i have made by Stroboframe. I guess Flash Point must have brought out Stroboframe it is the same but cost more money. I think it's great but cost more.

For the money this is good, I would like the tilt not to tilt so easy but it is not hard to control once you use it.

Intend to use periodically when external flash head is required. It works as designed and would be even better if not for the negative comment below given my current camera and usual set-up. My preferred setup is my Nikon D300s with the accessory Nikon motor drive attached since the additional controls allow for more comfortable shooting posture when shooting portrait vice landscape captures. Problem being, with the motor drive attached, the framework of the bracket assembly interferes with the flash connector for flash cord utilization on the top of the camera when flipped for portrait captures.

This was the first bracket I have ever bought. I was looking for a bracket to use when I shoot weddings and other events to get rid of harsh shadows from my flash being turned with the camera. I was not looking to spend a whole lot of money, but wanted something that would work well. I have only shot one wedding with this bracket so far and for the most part I was pleased with how well it worked. It is pretty easy to switch from vertical to horizontal and the normal harsh shadows I usually get were nowhere to be seen! My only complaint would be the mount for the camera...it would not screw in super-tight so the camera would shift a little from time to time. Also, make sure your camera and flash have remote capabilites, otherwise you will need an off-camera flash cord in order for your flash to go off. All-in-all, it is a great deal and I think it is a great bracket to start out with until I can afford a custom one!

I wanted to use this to raise the flash off the camera, and this does the trick. But it's heavy, and it makes it too hard for me to hold the camera in a stable fashion.

I fortunately don't shoot a lot of "running gun" projects like weddings, but when I have to, this thing fills the niche for getting strobe reflection up out of people's glasses for a very reasonable price. If I was doing weddings full time, I'd opt for something a lot sturdier and easier to use in a horizontal and vertical positions.

I was looking for my first flip bracket to use, and did alot of research on bracket available on the market. Decided on this one, and don't regret it at all. it was an excellent price for the quality of the product. it's very durable, and comfortable to hold.

Used for a wedding & worked fine. Not perfect but does what I expected. Luckily, I was able to pick it up in person @ retail store & check it out as 1st box was missing the attachment screw & next one the screw was too long & my camera wouldn't attach securely. But next 1 was fine. Used with a Nikon F-100 & a Vivitar 283 with 3 foot sync cord as the 1 foot cord can work but is cutting it a bit close. Doesn't stand securely if you put it down so be careful. Can't comment on the durability as I've only used it once but so far so good. Reasonably priced compared to other brackets.

It has good design for turning camera up or side way, but too small for camera with battery grip.

I shoot my daughters showing animals at fairs. I really got tired of fixing red eye or holding my SB900 with my second hand. Every bracket I saw was $+. This bracket seemed pretty good and the price was right. I bought a Pearstone cable to go from the hotshoe to the top of the bracket for I think around $. This is a killer combination and I have used it 3 times since I bought it and it worked great. I have put by D7000 on it with and without the MB-D11 battery grip. No more red eye for this guy.

This product will work in any SLR camera, but be sure to get the right flash cable that is appropriate for your camera. I have EOS 5D camera and 580EX flash and I got the right cable. People will impress and tells you that you are a pro. It is very light and easy to change position from landscape to portrait.

I have used grip for 2 weddings since I received it. It is great for getting decent vertical flash shots. Changing between vertical and horizontal is a little awkward but you get used to it. My biggest complaint is that there is no way to "lock" the flip bracket. This means that you may be holding your camera only and the bracket starts flipping when you might not want it to. I have learned to keep my wrist under the bracket to try and prevent that. For the money, I'm very happy. I have been getting some great results from using it. More expensive models might give you more control over the flip mechanism. On a budget, I would recommend this. Please note though, you cannot have a battery grip attached to your camera or a full-size body like a Canon 1D series (with built in grip).

The new Flashpoint Camera Flip Bracket is a solid flash bracket designed for needs of the professional event or wedding photographer, but well within the means of the enthusaist. Built of anodized aircraft grade aluminum, with an articulated platform, allowing the camera to be switched between portrait and landscape aspect while maintaining the flash above the lens. Will fit a wide range of cameras from APS-C DSLRs to Full Frame DSLRs."
