Works fine with any grip that has a center screw mount, but does not work with the Petax grip which has an off center screw mount.

you cant switch to vertical grip and move the flash to the top of the camera to still bounce the flash on the ceiling... after reviewing a lot of flash bracket I decided for this one.

I found this bracket to be very thoughtfully designed. For example, no matter which position the flash is in, the distance between the flash and the lens is the same. So one does not have to adjust the flash to insure the desired light distribution. Surprisingly, I can't say the same of other products I have tried. This flash bracket is also very light-weight. It matters a lot when one runs around taking pictures at a wedding or another event all afternoon. The rotation is smooth and easy. You don't have to struggle with it. It does not block access to the grip when turned. It just works and works well with very little effort!

The Reporter Flash Ring is a new tool that allows reporters and event photographers to rotate any flash around a camera's optical axes. It keeps the flash above the lens in either horizontal or vertical camera positions. The bracket will not restrict your hand's access to the vertical grip or vertical shutter release button when the camera is in the "portrait" position. The flash is mounted on a slider which is designed for high stability and effortless swing of the flash with one hand. No locking or unlocking is required to secure the flash in either position. The unit is light and compact so it can be kept attached to the camera at all times.
Maximum allowed flash weight: 16oz (454g)
Ring ID: 4.6" (117mm)
