For years I used an ETX 70 refractor, but within the last couple of months I became interested in experimenting with astro binoculars (two eyes are better and more natural than one!), and purchased a set of Oberwerk 25X100 Deluxe glasses. At approximately 10#, they are heavy and require tripod mounting. The Farpoint parallel counter-balanced mount was clearly the answer. With the optional swing hinge attachment, the setup turns star and planet observation into a virtual armchair activity. Properly adjusted, using heavy astro binoculars is a smooth, enjoyable activity that allows the user to sit comfortably in a chair and use both eyes and virtually single-finger pressure to track celestial objects, instead of being bent over a single eye piece with only one eye seeing the images. The range of adjustments is virtually infinite, the product quality is first class, and the intelligent design and engineering is without peer. The price is worth every cent. One of the best decisions you can make in putting together an astro-binocular astronomy site. You will find yourself wondering why you didn't do this sooner.

Well made and easy to assemble. Handles 25x100 binoculars and 600mm zoom lens+camera very easily. Counter balance smooth and steady. You'll need a sturdy tripod.
