loose and plastic
I was looking for a saddle to mount solidly to a workbench to work on scopes and hold them tightly. I placed the order, and when it came initial impression was this would fit the bill. I mounted it solidly with 2x4s to my workbench using 3 of the screw holes using 2 1/2 in deck screws. I put my first scope on it and could not get it tight enough to stop wiggling. instead of a sold block, it uses a sliding side type, and has a small pin to help keep it aligned. The pin is smaller than the hole, and is a bit sloppy. Also, the pin is not long enough and when you loosen the side enough to get the dovetail into it, the pin comes out and the side spins out of alignment.
When the dovetail drops into place and you re-align the pin to tighten it, you then find that the plastic handle breaks off into your hand trying to tighten it. The saving grace here is once you remove the rest of the plastic handle, there is a hex head underneath. Finally, I was able to tighten it enough to be useful.

High Quality Dovetail, Very Reasonably Priced
