This is a great beauty dish at a price that other's can't compete with.

I absolutely love the look this dish gives to women. Very easy to use and gives out a no shadow light.

This is an excellent dish, at a fraction of the cost of an original Bowens dish or any other expensive brand. I was skeptical at first, but the dish works wonders. It has a diffusing sock, that it fit quite tight. This dish is perfect for beauty shoots, portraits, close-ups, etc. It runs hot after a while. However, after a year of use and storage, the paint is intact and not scratches. I also use this with my Canon Speed lights. I bought a Speed light to Bowens adapter, and now I use all my Bowens accessories, including the dish, with the Speedlite. If you don't have a Bowens light with an "S" adapter ("bayonet") like the Bowens Gemini series, then you will need an adapter, usually a Speedring. There are some d lights like White Lightning (old version) that don't have an adapter for Bowens, so it won't work there. If you have a Photogenic or other equipment then you will need to buy separately an adapter for Bowens. If you can't find the adapter, then it won't work unless you make it work with some drilling and cutting (not recommended ). So, look for the adapter first if your lights are not Bowens or have an "S" connector. Thanks

The 21 inch beauty was a great buy. The dish delivers softness with added contrast. It is important to remember when using a beauty dish that the ideal spot for the dish is twice the diameter of the dish it self; a 22 inch beauty should be 44 inches away form your subject.

MAKES BEAUTIFUL PORTRAITS

Beauty dishes are used frequently in fashion photography. One way to identify their use is to check the catch lights in the eyes of the photographic subject. With traditional dishes, the highlight will be round with a small darker dot in the center (that's the source of the light that bounces back into the dish). It's possible to put diffusion material on a beauty dish so the light is softer--therefore, you won't see the dark center but a circular highlight instead.
