Fender finally releases the much-awaited American Performer Series. Derived from classic Leo Fender designs, the newest line-up comes as a follow up to the brand’s exclusive line of Americal Special guitars and incorporates new hardware to further enhance the delivery of exceptional tones that players have come to expect from authentic Fender guitars. Powering up the American Performer Series are new Yosemite alnico single-coil pickups that deliver rich, dynamic tones and DoubleTap humbucking pickups that split the coils into two while preserving their volume. They also feature Greasebucket tone circuity to shape high notes while maintaining gain and clarity, as well as push-pull pots to unlock new tones on some models. Benefiting the Yosemite pickups are flat-staggered pole pieces that increase output and shellac coating that provides breathing space for the coils while controlling feedback. With modern C-shaped necks, 9.5”-radius fingerboards, 22 jumbo frets on each guitar, and interesting new color schemes, the American Performer Series is designed to suit different kinds of players and provide a new level of comfort and accuracy for almost any playing style.
