This is a beautiful example of the Fender American professional Stratocaster. The fit and finish are great. The VMod pickups sound great and I love the olive color. This is just a very nice American stratocaster that came in a TSA flight case.

Strat was delivered in less than 72 hours (DC area) in minty condition! Plays great out of the box and looks beautiful too! I was a little worried aboutreports of finishing issues on Fenders but this one got the nod of approval from my guitar man Greg and after a quick $20 adjustment for some fine tuning and personal preference, has been a joy to play. The color is beautiful as is the case. Enjoy!

Let me start by saying I’ve owned about 6 different American strats from a 2004 standard to a custom shop. The one thing that was common with most of them was that I didn’t care for fender pickups unless they were vintage spec. Hated the noiseless pickups just had no life. Well that’s not true with these vmod pickups. They sound amazing both clean and overdriven. And as with all American strats the fit and finish is top notch

Plays great. Neck shape fits my hands perfectly. The on sale price was hundreds below anywhere else so there's that. Pleasantly surprised by the lake placid color. It's a darker, richer blue than expected. As a VIP 360 customer delivery was super fast and free.

Love this Fender American Performer right out of the box that plays like a dream. The pickups are amazing and sound like an old style strats with a lot of less hum through a Fender Twin Reverb 65. I play through a Marshall DSL 100-watt head and a Marshall 4 x 12, 1960a cabinet as well and it rocks.

This is the newest version replacing the American Standard. I think it has a hotter sound, if not louder than the Standard. There are some great videos of reviews that compare them. I love the feel of the new neck shape. I don't notice much difference in the narrower frets, they feel good to me. I would say try one if you get a chance. Though some prefer the old Standard, I haven't heard anyone say they don't like the new style at all. They are just different. You may want one of each!

I have come to the realization that if you want a strat sound you have to have a Fender stratocaster. I have other guitars that play and feel more to my liking. I needed just a plain old American Stratocaster. I was really surprised how good this guitar is. After a very minor setup (almost perfect out of the box) she is looking and playing great. I highly recommend this guitar to anyone who has or needs a strat. Just great, love it.

I can highly recommend this Fender Special Edition American Professional Stratocaster. The tremolo bridge is true to return to correct pitch. The pickups are great, articulate, and clear sounding in any of the five switching positions. The neck plays wonderfully and the rare Lake Placid Blue color is beautiful. Also arrived in the new Fender Black hardshell case.

Guitar looks as good as it sounds. Set up well out of the box. Need to adjust intonation on G string other than that it’s great. Love the maple neck, real smooth. Got a great deal too! Can go wrong having a Strat in the arsenal.

Let me start by saying I know Strats. I've had them since '71 and this is one of the best strats I've ever had. I liked it so much that I bought a second one in white. My wife loves the Lake Placid blue with the mint pick guard. The guitar not only looks great but plays like a dream. You can get nice vintage tones as well as modern tones. It's very pedal friendly and sound good thru a variety of amps. if your on the fence with this, PULL THE TRIGGER you'll love the impeccable quality. Fender is putting out some of it's finest instruments ever. l

I've owned a couple of Stratocaster's over the years and they've never really just felt like me. They're nice enough, just not my thing. I decided to give Fender another shot as I've heard good things about the new ranges and the specs on the American Professional sounded like they were right up my alley. But I was trying to justify that vs the new Mexico made Player series which, on paper, was close enough for several hundred dollars less. Then I stumbled on this deal and my decision was made. Once I got it in hand, the differences were very apparent, the neck feel being the biggest. I love the satin finished back with the gloss finger board. And the new carve is wonderful, not too thick, fits the hand very well...comfort city! The new Tim Shaw designed V Mod pickups sound great, every position is useable from my perspective and Lake Placid blue is spectacular. I never knew I wanted a guitar in Lake Placid blue! It's quickly becoming my favorite behind my Gibson ES-339.

Excellent guitar, everything works how it's expected to. All the improvements they made compared to the American standard do the trick without making the guitar feel funny or strange. I got this with a nice discount and the lake placid blue finish looks amazing.

This is the best strat I have had the pleasure of owning. I own an Eric Johnson Strat?, American 59 reissue, a 2014 American Standard and several others. This one is by far the best one I have played. The pickups are chimey and vintage sounding. I really like the treble bleed circuitry. The feel of the neck is phenomenal. There is nothing negative that I can say about this beauty. I really enjoy the tall narrow frets. I love the Lake Placid Blue. No regrets on this one! Adorama really came through on this one. It came packaged very well. The case was immaculate.

Although the antique olive was not necessarily my first color choice, it looks amazing in person. The finish is much thinner than the finish on my MIM Standard telecaster or strat - I can very faintly see the join lines and grain through the finish, and the instrument itself is very resonant unplugged. Out of the box, the action was basically perfect - I set intonation and tuning and have not had to adjust saddles or tweak the truss rod at all. The neck profile is very comfortable for me - far more than either the 2002 "American Fat Strat Texas Special" or 2012 American Standard I had previously - hand-filling and substantial without sacrificing easy chording and bending. In terms of tones - it really nails all of the bell-like tones strats have become famous for. I am definitely more a fan of the three pickups individually than the 'in-between' settings, but it also has the 'quack' you want if you are an aficionado of those tones as well. The vibrato is light and easy - I don't do a lot of dive-bombing, but it's perfect for adding a bit of shimmer here and there. I know I'm still in the 'honeymoon' period, but I believe it's going to be a long and happy marriage!

It’s a beautiful guitar and the pictures don’t do it justice. Pickups sound really good. I had planned on swapping my boutique pups from my MIM Strat but don’t see the need for it. Only knock I have is that it could use a set-up out of box, which is somewhat expected for a new from factory guitar. However I think at this price they should be set-up and ready to play, to the credit of fender, most pro strat reviews I’ve seen have been good to go out of the box according to the viewers. Maybe I’m just unlucky, but it’s annoying to spend an extra $60 or so dollars on an already expensive new guitar. Also they ship out with 9 gauge strings which is not my fav, but that is just personal preference.

Often copied, but never surpassed, the Stratocaster is arguably the world's most-loved electric guitar. Electrifying the music world since its debut in 1954, its natural, versatile sound made the Stratocaster the benchmark for exceptional guitar tones. The American Professional Stratocaster isn't a re-imagining of the classic design; it's the authentic original model, evolved.
