Construction & Build
The Stratocaster tone is spoken of with reverence, and it comes from the brand's consistent use of alder and maple for building guitars. Alder guitar bodies give you a tonal base that sounds just-washed clean, with layers of resonance that can only be described as blues-forward. This guitar is powered by Fender's own American Vintage '56 pickups, which are single-coil units ready to sing or snarl at the flick of the s witch. The control knobs, done up in aged white plastic, help you control master volume and tone levels, and a 5-position blade switch provides different combinations of your 3 pickups to take you from wiry western twang to smooth, mellow chording. There's also a vintage-style tremolo arm at the bridge, a synthetic bone nut, and vintage-style tuners to keep the provided Fender .010-gauge strings strung just tight enough.
