Shopper : How long is the Duo-Sonic from strap pin to the end of the headstock? What is the widest part of the body?Shane R : The modern "Fender" Duo-Sonic specifically sold here is 39.5" from end of strap button to end of head stock, and 12.25" at the body's widest point.LUIS F : The guitar is ~39 inches from strap bottom pin to the very top of the headstock. At its widest point near the bottom it is a little less than 12 inches. The guitar is light enough so I never use a strap. By the way it’s a great guitar and one of my favorites.CHARLES K : I don’t have it in front of me but it’s smaller than a telecaster in length in scale in feel Widest is likely the bottom half

The frets were still giving off material from polishing.

Fender Duo-Sonic Goodness!

Plays great, though you do notice the short scale neck if you have other guitars. Fit and finish are excellent and the pickups sound very good. Would certainly recommend to anyone! Always great service and delivery from Adorama too.

I saw this guitar on thanksgiving for only $ USD and I had to pick it up, it arrived super quickly and it was amazingly set up. It quickly became my favorite guitar.

Great guitar at a great price.

I highly recommend this guitar. It plays and sounds great. It just needed an intonation adjustment out of the box.

Best shortscale guitar

Most fun & comfortable guitar especially for those with a shorter reach. Sounds excellent clean or with effects pedals.

Good but a little beat up

Cool guitar in a beautiful color. Neck plays fast. I know it is a shorter scale, but it feels comfortable even in my huge hands. Unique look. Jangly, quacky pick ups. The selector switch works but it is super wiggle and I suspect was damaged sometime before getting to me. Good deal when I snagged it on sale.

Don't like the looks but it plays and sounds fantastic

I'm not a fan of the way Fender guitars look, and this one is not much to look at even by Fender standards. But - once you start playing it, you know you have something special. It's super smooth and has more sounds available to you. Setup wasn't perfect, but it was an easy fix. No truss rod tweaking needed.

Not good

Cheap. Expected more from Fender. I should have returned it. I have over 40 guitars, several Fenders. This one looks and sounds cheap.

Great guitar, but neck was very bowed

I love this guitar, the color is great and it's very comfortable - plus Jimi Hendrix, David Byrne, John McLoughlin, and Patti Smith all played it. Adorama also had a great sale on it. Unfortunately, when it arrived, it was not quite in playing shape. Padding was acceptable, though less than other retailers that ship guitars. The neck had relief (forward bow) over .02" - this may not sound like a lot but it means that around the middle of the neck, the strings are way too high off the fretboard, and make loud buzzing sounds near the beginning and end. The guitar was missing the truss rod wrench to adjust this, and did not come with any Fender warranty card/information (maybe I got one that someone had returned?) Thankfully, this uses a 3/16th hex wrench which I had. Another unfortunate thing - I was only able to get an acceptable amount of neck relief (between .005" and .01") by completely maxing out the truss rod. I'm confident that one more turn of the rod will begin stripping the wood, so I really hope that if the guitar neck shifts that it's the other direction so I can still fix it... Basically, I'm guessing that at this price and buying sight unseen, it's likely a bit of a gamble. I see nothing to indicate Adorama sets up their instruments before shipping like Sweetwater and other vendors, so what you get has not had a once-over to prevent issues like mine. If you're prepared to spend some money and get a setup from a guitar shop, or have the tools/means to do it yourself and want a Duo-Sonic, jump on one - but if it's not on sale here, consider buying from a real music vendor.

Size Matters Not
Since its debut in 1956, the Duo-Sonic has found its way into the hands of genre-defining artists, becoming an underground sensation that helped create alternative music in the dingy clubs of New York City. A surprisingly hip guitar with upgraded contemporary features, this instrument features slick style and a unique sound that's perfectly at home in modern music.

• 24" scale length; "C"-shaped maple neck
• Two Duo-Sonic single-coil pickups
• 9.5"-radius Pau Ferro fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets
• Six-saddle string-through-body hardtail Strat bridge with bent steel saddles
• Master Volume and Tone controls; three-way pickup switch

24" Scale Length
This classic shorter scale was originally offered during the 1960s on Fender classics such as the Jaguar and Mustang guitars. The 24" scale remains an authentic Fender design element still offered today.

Duo-sonic Single-coil Pickups
Clear and punchy-sounding, thanks to their vintage-spec output, Duo-Sonic single-coil and humbucking pickups add a unique character to the guitar's voice. The instrument's pure Fender tone shines through with enhanced upper harmonics and an articulate midrange that easily cuts through a mix.

Modern "C"-shaped Neck
This instrument features a modern neck designed for comfort and performance, with a contemporary "C"-shaped profile (the shape of the neck in cross section), 9.5" fingerboard radius and medium jumbo frets.

Three-way Pickup Switch
The Duo-Sonic features a three-way toggle pickup switch, giving you the bridge pickup alone, the bridge and neck pickups together and the neck pickup alone.

Six-saddle String-through-body Hardtail Bridge
This model features a hardtail bridge, rather than the classic tremolo, engineered for enhanced tuning stability and sustain. A string-through-body bridge enhances vibration transfer resulting in increased sustain while the six individual saddles can be adjusted for precise intonation along each string.

Engraved Neck Plate
This Duo-Sonic model features a special neck plate engraved with a Fender "F" logo-a classic design element for Fender instruments.
