I got one of these when they showed up on Slick Deals for a really great price. The Celestion Greenbacks aren't really fully broken in yet but the amp already sounds great. It's got a very spongy feel and breaks up sooner than my 65 Reissue series amps. This amp has a higher noise floor than my 65s, too. I don't know nothing from nothing when it comes to amp engineering, but I've read that it has something to do with these amps having a reduced "negative feedback", whatever that is. At any rate you won't notice if you're playing in a band or even if you're jamming at home, but if you're planning on recording you might want to look for a quieter amp. My unit had some reverb feedback when you turn the reverb up past 5 or 6. I solved this by flipping the reverb tank and putting a little bit of foam under it. Problem seems to have been solved. The amp (like most all Fender tube amps) was biased pretty cold from the factory. I rebiased it to something a little hotter based on the tube specs and the amp really came to life. This is a great amp, despite the issues listed above. At the sale price I have no regrets whatsoever.

I’m a Vox guy, but when I saw this on sale, I went for it. I’m happy I did as this amp is fantastic. Great tone, especially with my telecaster. Love the vibrato. The Reverb is cray. I keep it low around 2-3. Any more and things get weird. It’s plenty loud for me home playing (I don’t gig). Looks killer, too!

I've always loved Princeton Reverbs, especially for the bias tremolo. The 68 Custom Vibrolux has the same or very similar circuit. The overall tone is very close as well, with just a bit less mid scoop. It's got all the headroom I'll ever need.

On specs and reputation, I ordered this. Bonamassa himself said this was better than the original. It has tube driven effects, has two different sounding channels, clips without having to shake the walls in a bedroom. I even loved it when I played into it alone. Now what is this amp's downfall: noise. This amp has a very noisy baseline. It is noisy in standby and when you aren't playing. It is noisier still if you try to run effect pedals before it. It's untenable, especially if you are interested in recording with it. And it really isn't loud enough to cut through the mix live. Great tone until the moment you stop playing. You could change a few resistors or start to retube and rebias right away, but that is not what I look for when I drop over a grand on an all tube amp. If you like the overall tone but want less of that terrible static (poltergeist TV esque) noise, I would recommend a vibrolux or the reissue Princeton reverb.

The amp was ordered on a Tuesday, and was waiting for me when I arrived home on Wednesday. Got the amp out of it's box, plugged it in, and was instantly impressed with the clean tones. Very pretty sounding amp. Clea, warm. and articulate tones. The Reverb sounds really good as well, not overly sterile or cheap sounding like so many other built in reverbs. The built in vibrato is also a treat as it has a very lush sound, and you can control the intensity through the speed and depth knobs. The amp also comes with a foot switch so you can turn the vibrato and reverb on and off through the pedal. The amp also comes with an amp cover.

Clean Fender tone with just the right amount of power. Not overwhelming but load enough for stage performances or even smaller outside gigs. Plenty of drive with the preamp volume control. Quality Vibrato & Reverb. Nice vintage look with the gray tolex. came with a 2 button footswitch for reverb & Vibrato and a nice Fender amp cover.

The '68 Custom Twin Reverb is a tribute to the classic look and exceptional sound of the amps from the 1960s. It features a striking silver-and-turquoise front panel adorned with an aluminum grille cloth trim, a design that is as visually appealing as it is acoustically impressive.
