Great head!

WOW! What an underrated ball head this is. I always thought that FEISOL is only known for their carbon fiber tripods, but boy was I wrong. This head is super smooth and very stable. It holds my 300 mm Canon without any issues. Only regarding the friction knob you have to read the manual! You always have to tighten the large main knob first before chaining the friction. This head compares to the $300 plus category if you ask me.

Mixed Experience

This is my second ball head. I wanted a mix between weight and the control you are supposed to get from a larger ball. The Good: When you lock it down, it does not move. The Bad: When you are using with a little drag for very small adjustments, you can feel exactly where all the holes were drilled for weight relief. As you moved it around there are just little catches that you feel. If you adjust enough drag to let you just nudge it and hold it will catch on the these spots. If you loosen it enough to not catch them, if will just flop.

Great Product!

Recently, I had been looking for a new tripod and head. With a heavier camera I was looking for something very sturdy, portable, and affordable. This head met all those requirements. The camera attaches firmly, and combined with Feisol 3402 tripod it's a very sturdy combination. I have yet to find anything about this head that I don't like.
