Sturdy Center Column-less Tripod

Light weight sturdy tripod without a center column. I use this for astrophotography using a tracker or with a gimbal/300mm 2.8. Less leg sections deploy quickly at the cost of longer collapsed height. I only use this for non-travel purposes and it works great for that.

quality and great price

I have a Gitzo head on these tripod legs and they are wonderful! Pros - lightweight, hold plenty of weight, less sections than travel legs means less time and less locks to twist, great height (I am 5'8" and they work fine without a center post. Also, love the multiple positions and the foam pads on all three legs. cons - doesn't fold up as small as travel legs, doesn't fit in included bag with my head on there, and the top is so flat (near the legs) that the twist screw on the head can hit the legs if not careful when loosening (not a biggie, and not a problem at all with turning the camera in portrait orientation)

Great tripod

I love the fact that I don't need a center post with these legs. I am 5'8" and with the Kirk BH-3 ball head my camera is almost eye level. These legs are light and sturdy. I prefer flip locks on my legs, but these twist locks are so easy to use. One twist opens both locks on a leg. I wasn't sure I needed carbon fiber, but I'm glad I got it since I do a lot of hiking for my photos.
