After owning both the first-generation 23mm f/1.4 and 16mm f/1.4 lenses, I can safely say this new 18mm easily bests both in terms of sharpness and autofocus performance (the new 23mm is undoubtedly on the same level). I'm especially impressed with how good this lens is at f/1.4 and the natural vignette it gives you at those wider apertures. It's absolutely a perfect for environmental portraits, combining a shallow depth of field with a moderately wide field of view, separating your subject while still taking in more of the scene. I'm extremely happy with this purchase.

The best option for wide angle normal lens for Fujifilm x-mount systems. IQ is superb; lens handling and construction are impeccable. Expensive but worth the cost, IMHO. Thanks Adorama for fast shipping as always.

Haven?t had the lens for a long period of time yet but IQ looks fantastic, very sharp. Focusing is as fast and silent as I?ve heard from on line reviews.
