I began using Velvia 120 roll film in 2009 after visiting an art gallery in Hawaii and realized I had visited many of the places photographed but hadn't bothered to take a quality instrument with me! Velvia renders photographs in a way many other films simply cannot. It makes the red and blues more noticeable and saturated. Luckily for us, Fuji has agreed to continue making this incredible film as I intend to continue using it until they shut down production!

It's by far my favorite film stock out. I've used Velvia, E100, Astia, E100VS to name a few and every time I use Provia 100, I get the colors I'm looking for. Almost spot on when it comes to landscape photography. Super fine grain and very versatile. If you want a slide film that gives great color and room to wiggle with exposure then this is it. Give it a try!

Most of what comes out of your camera depends on the lens, but this film offers very fine grain and strong, saturated colors. The dynamic range is not great, so you have to be very accurate with your exposure, but if you expose this film properly it can result in beautiful photos.

I use this for pinhole photography. The colors are amazing and the reciprocity and ISO lead to better beach and bright conditions exposure times.

Fuji Velvia is, as always, the best for landscape work. I consistently get the most beautiful positives and end results from this film. No film photographer should avoid shooting with this awesome film!

At last, good things come to an end. I have been shooting a 6x7 pentax for 20 or more years using fujichrome 120 asa 50. To replicate this camera and the lens using this film you would have to invest 10's of thousands of dollars to do it digitally. I have some images up on ozarkphoto.com and I am publishing a book shortly all done with the above. I feel like I am losing a very close friend.

I just fairly recently made my foray into 35 mm after having learned digital a few years ago. This film is an amazing and fun challenge to use.

Velvia Slide film is not for everyone. I've recently taken steps to understand its relatively reduced tonal range and the ideal times of day to use it. I'm taking the time to understand how to to calculate exposure. And the rewards are significant. I love how it looks when its shot well.

I have loved Fujichrome Velvia 50 since it came out way back in 1990. The ISO is a bit slow but the fine grain and rich colors make up for it. I am a railroad buff and have photographed many trains over the past 30 years with many different films and every time, I would come come back to Velvia. At 50 ISO, Velvia requires a somewhat shallow depth of field in order to achieve a 1/500 of a second shutter speed or higher but on sunny days, that is easily achievable. If you wish to shoot film, I highly recommend Velvia 50. If the ISO is considered too slow to your liking then I highly recommend "bumping up" to Fujichrome's Velvia 100. Nearly identical to the 50 but with the added incentive of being "faster".
