Does not creep with supertelepphoto lens.

This is a very sturdy ballhead that does not creep when tightened like most other ballheads do. Other extras are: 1. With the 15 deg knob, you can conveniently take panorama shots without making your mental calculations or guessing on the coverage. 2.With the vertical tilt function locked, set your desired tension with the main tension knob, release the panorama function knob and you have yourself a gimbal head on the field. This is amazing! It is assuring for me if I do not want to carry a sidekick or a dedicated gimbal head for those times I am not thinking exclusively to be shooting birds or wild life in the field. I use the CB 58 either on the Gitzo 3542LS or 5542 LS tripod. This is one well thought of and engineered piece of machine. I have no regrets getting it whatsoever. 6 months after, I also bought it's little brother CB 38 (fairly used) to use with a monopod or smaller tripod .The CB 38 is rated to carry a maximum load of 55 Ibs while the CB 58 is rated for a whopping 130 Ibs !

Best ballhead todate.

Have any doubts, check out "Battle of the Titans" on DP review. You cannot go wrong on this ballhead.Very sturdy ballhead and interestingly not as heavy as RRS BH55.Matters a lot to me for air travel.

Smooth well machined ballhead

This head will handle the heaviest of lens. Well machined and smooth. Order with the panning knob and it clicks every 15 degrees of rotation, great for creating files for photo stitching.
