I have been a constant lighting guy for 10+ years, so this is my first flash. For the price, I love it! If you are new to flash photography like I am, watch a few videos to get the hang of how a manual flash works vs a through the lens (TTL). Essentially you set the power level on the unit or on the wireless trigger, take a test shot, and adjust the power level through trial and error until you get your desired look. I paired this flash with a YN560-TX trigger and have been happy with the results. It is worth noting that with that particular trigger (YN560-TX) you can only zoom the flash to 105mm out of it's potential 199mm. This is a limitation of the trigger only, not this flash head. I question how often I will use the zoom feature at all so I personally am not too worried about that limitation. Fit, finish, and feel is certainly what you would expect from an off-brand manufacturer, but my impression is that as long as you take care of this equipment and don't use it to drive nails, it will last for quite a while. As others have mentioned even if it does only last for a year or two, at this price you can easily afford to replace it!

Just like any of the speedlights we offer from Yongnuo, this unit is built with quality and ready to roll with a professional--and it's also simple enough to use that a beginner can use it to take their shots to a new level. With a great flash and transmission range, six-group control, and 16 selectable channels for transmitting or receiving, you're covered no matter what you're supposed to be covering.
This speedlight is a high-guide-number (66 meters, iso 100 at 200mm zoom) speedlight with a universal mount, which means it can be used on any camera that has a standard hot shoe. It has a 2.4ghz radio system built in and is compatible with the 560-tx, rf602/603/605, 560III, and 560IV. It is similar in performance to the 560IV. However, it can control up to 6 different groups of flashes from a single transmitter unit atop the camera. This new speedlight will have an external battery plug and a PC sync socket, and the ability to be either a master or a slave unit.
Flash output can be controlled in 1/3 EV stops, and you'll be able to set your own custom functions to suit your shooting needs; the unit also has an auto-save function, meaning you'll never lose the settings you worked so hard to dial in. It runs on 4 AA batteries or an external power pack, depending on your needs and shooting conditions, and weighs in at just over 15 ounces.
