Shopper : Is the glass UV protected? I need 15 - 8x12 clip frames with UV glass. These less expensive frames don't seem to come that way..? Wonder if I can change the glass or if the clips then would't fit? Thanks.ANDREW R : Unfortunately UV protection is unspecified
Shopper : I am wondering what the back is made of? The description both uses "wood molding" and "styrene plastic", which one is it??LESLIE C : I have an 8x10 frame and the back is what I would guess as a type of wood composite with the metal clips and then a cardboard backing for the actual picture. The wood "frame" that holds the clips is 6x8 1/4" . These frames have worked very well and I am very pleased with them.KELLY R : hello shopper: behind the glass is a piece of pressed wood backing (8x10) the same thickness as the glass. attached to this is a wooden frame-like rectangle (6x8). the clips pass through and attach to this (wood molding) which has a channel in it which is useful for hanging on a nail or picture hanger. there was no plastic on mine.JOAN B : Wood molding with dense cardboard. This is a great frame.JOANNE B : Oh darn, I just took a picture of the back of it, but there's no way to post it on here. They really should show a picture of the back on this item because it is confusing. The front is glass, of course, and the back is some sort of plastic. Then there is a wooden frame on the back, about an inch or so inside the edge. This holds the picture evenly from the wall, and your hanger, nail, or screw fits inside a channel of the wooden frame. This doesn't quite sound like what they're describing, but it's okay. It actually works well. I have the 8X10 and the 16X20 frames. I take a lot of wildlife pictures and like to swap them out frequently, so it's a good system for me. I hope this helps.

With only a few small metal clips retaining the glass front and no molding at all, the Frameless clip frame is practically frameless. With the Framatic clip system, no hardware is removed when loading the frame, and it takes only secondsto do so.

Our exclusive system has stainless steel clips retained by injection molded buttons welded to a styrene plastic back. A press of the finger releases the clips for loading, then returns the clips to secure glass and artwork.

The clips adjust to accommodate up to a double mat. The clips come black or chrome. The buttons serve as hangers as well as floating the frame 1/2" away from the wall. Edges of the glass are ground smooth.
