Needs work

If you are handy, like a bench jeweler, watch maker, or gunsmith, you can get three and a half or four stars out of this unit. The body and finish of the eternal unit is quite good. The tilt is pretty good, needs to be lubed better. The pan is not so good. It took me about an hour of cleaning it up and getting a hard plastic tip on the point of the set screw, plus better lube. Now I can pan and tilt with varying degrees of resistance. For forty something dollars and some TLC it's worth it. If you're looking for a unit that works well right out of the box, you'll need to spend more money. Not recommended for the non-tooled masses.
