I have only tested the Flashpoint II FP320MK in my studio. I have not had a chance to use it in the field. On battery (DC) mode it recycles as advertised and in AC mode it cycles a little faster. I have two other Flashpoint strobes I have had for several years and use in my studio all the time. They have proved to be very reliable. My only negative comment about flashpoint products is the flashpoint strip soft box (8"X36") is flimsy.

I use two of the 320M's to light my green screen background (with 24x24 Glow soft boxes). They're easy to setup and function as expected. The stand that comes with the kit is okay, not great. The case can hold 2 lights, but it's a tight squeeze. The camera-side connector on the sync cord that came with one of the lights wasn't a solid fit. Had to pinch it in some to make it stay connected. Also, one of the sync-cord ports on the light was snug and rough feeling when I tried to plug in my sync cord. As I've seen with most Flashpoint products, manuals leave a lot to be desired. Fortunately, for this product, it's not overly complicated.

Studio work, people and not. Simple, no cumbersome "features". I can get the lighting I want with a few adjustments. I use the flash trigger with my on camera flash bounced off the ceiling adding one more light source on subject if I want it. I go fully manual and have plenty of aperture latitude. Using a Nikon D800 I get fabulous detail to work with in Photoshop. Hard to believe the quality/price value in this product. Simply sweet!

The light is great, and comes in a very convenient carrying cass. However, the light stand that comes with it is pretty weak to handle the large head. It wiggles back and forth and does not seem very steady.

I just bought one of these kits and used it for a few shoots and it worked flawlesly. Very even lighting, fast recycle time. Great value, works great.

Good kit for beginners but mine did not have the black removable cover and I want it. Like the feture of no remote controls and it works with my flash.

Home Studio and on site. Opened the box and set up immediately in my small home studio (Spare bedroom). It set up quickly, securely and powered up as expected. I took a series of test shots both through synch cord and via slave. It worked flawlessly in all power modes. The modeling light is perfect for setting up at full power and then set to 1/2 for shooting. This also helps a LOT with modern digital AutoFocus cameras. I was pleasantly surprised that it triggered from my on camera flash at 1/16th power perfectly. The case it comes in is small enough to carry but big enough for the addition of cords and another umbrella.

Great system for a small studio set up, I have 3 units and swear by them, I owen them for 6 months and use them every day with no problem, I bought a extra flash tube just in case, cheap money, but it does produce the same quality as the larger price units

• One of the most popular set configurations are the one-head kits. These appeal to photographers buying studio lighting for the first time as well as photographers looking for exceptional value for the money. A typical one-head kit will include a monolight flash unit with a light stand. To control the light, included is a 40" white umbrella. In our experience, this creates a very easy-to-use and effective one-light setup. The umbrella is perfect for portraiture and many still-life applications. •The Flashpoint M series is supplied with an AC cord for out-of-the-box use. Using our DC battery power pack (FP2PP, sold separately) converts the 320M into a portable unit that can be used outdoors.
