I was looking for a compact travel tripod. After searching through a ton of different options, I heard about the P5CFH, which was not only very compact when folded up, but also carbon fiber! To top things off, it was cheaper than all the other comparable tripods! The extra extension does make it a bit less stable, but that's kind of to be expected (and if you don't need too much height, can be completely avoided). Exactly what I was looking for in a travel tripod!

I am completely satisfied with my Adorama 3Pod P5CFH 8X Carbon Fiber 5 Section FlatFold Travel Tripod with K2 BallHead. It is well designed and of high quality.

Simply pressing the shutter button on my mirrorless camera is enough to make this tripod shake for several seconds. Because the flat fold design leaves no space for the center column to go through the base, it must instead be unscrewed. While the tripod can be broken down into two short pieces, most the time you will leave it assembled and it is then much longer when folded up and not as portable. Otherwise there are a lot of nice design details, smooth and easy to use ball head, and even foot spikes under the rubber pads.

This tripod weighs more than an aluminum one,but still a manageable weight to carry around on an outing or in a backpack. The slide out legs have four knobs to loosen and tighten on each leg, so it's not as quick as the ones with quick clips. I was hoping it would be sturdier than my aluminum one for long exposures. I'm not sure it is; I took a night photography class and the instructor noticed it moving in the breeze. I had to lower it for more steadiness and block the breeze with my body as best I could. I also can't seem to get it to a good spot for straight vertical photos/turning the camera 90 degrees. This tripod had good reviews that I found when I chose it, so possibly my expectations were high. I'll keep it, however, instead of returning it. I like the compactness of it for travel.

I bought this tripod to be my main travel tripod. I liked the light weight from the carbon fiber and the fact that it included a decent ball head. Additionally the fact that it folded down to such a short length for packing while still being able to be extended to 56 in. tall was a plus. I should have paid a bit better attention to the photos since in order to achieve the short collapsed length the tripod needed to be taken apart in two sections, the legs and the telescoping rod with the ball head. So while the legs fold flat, you need to find somewhere else to pack the extension rod and ball head. Also, I was planning on just clipping this tripod to the outside of my Manfrotto camera backpack, but this does not work when the tripod is in two pieces. If I leave the tripod assembled it is too long to attach to the outside of the backpack. Instead, I just bring the legs with me and attach the ball head to the legs without the telescoping extension. This allows me to attach it to my backpack and pack it flat in suitcases. Unfortunately, this also means that the max height of the tripod is 40in. Furthermore, shooters with larger heavier cameras may find that the tripod is a bit flimsy for them, especially with the extension rod. I found that on a windy day it was very hard to keep my camera (Nikon D610 with 20mm) from swaying on the top of the extension rod. I plan to try again by just attaching the ball head to the tripod legs to see if that solves the issue. All in all I still like it and use it frequently, an for $150 feel it was priced right, but cannot give it more than 3-stars.

I wanted a tripod that was easy to pack and carry during my travels. This tripod is nice and light due to its carbon fiber composition. The fact that it lays flat makes it easy to pack and it doesn't take up as much space as traditional tripods. One drawback to its being light, however, is that it is vulnerable to wind. I just hang some weights from the center pole, and that helps stabilize it. It is well-made and I am very happy with it

I liked the price and the weight but it was a bit flimsy for the camera I have. If you have a smaller camera this would be fine. But if you have a larger one it is too bouncy to get a good shot.

The contact Isreal advised me to purchase this product over another, and even though it was about $30 more, I'm happy with his recommendation.

My main tripod when traveling. I like to do macro shots of flowers, and this works very well no matter what the ambient lighting. It is also great for taking city scapes in the evening. It would be better if it could be converted into a monopod.

The convertible P5CFH Tripod with K2 ball head from 3POD is a multipurpose, compact camera support system forged with industrial-strength carbon fiber and anodized finish, making it lighter, harder, more portable and more durable than traditional constructions. Suitable for payloads up to a hefty 20lbs, this tripod is a true space-saver without sacrificing strength or stability.
The P5CFHuses a cutting edge "flat-travel" design that does away with the bulkier traditional "round" folding style. Its 56.5inch body collapses magically into andiminutive, completely flat 13.5 inch package, perfect for stacking with other equipment or tucking neatly into a suitcase.
The removable 2-tiered center column allows this versatile configuration, takingadvantage of the column's added height for high-angle shots. Textured rubber pads at the base of each leg grip for a slip-free hold on smooth surfaces, and can be removed to reveal spikes that anchor the tripod tightly in grass or uneven ground.
The legs themselves lock in place with a 1/2 twist, with special metal jacketed clamps that won't rust, loosen, or wear out over time and boasts advanced protection against the destructive forces of heat, cold, dust and moisture.
This is a full featured tripod capable of tackling all the challenges of the trail. Each leg angle is individually adjustable and fixed, as you would expectin superior designed tripods, allowing for compensation to uneven surfaces, evenledges and stairs,in angular placement with 3 position settings. The asymmetrical placement of the legs serves to create a offset to the center of gravity and more flexible positioning in the wild.
