I bought two of these to go with the original that came with the ball head. It is much easier to have extras on the camera if you want to change bodies frequently.

I use the travel tripod and quick release system when I am on the road. It appears to work as intended. A possible problem: it is easy to lose the quick release plate. To replace it you must purchase the whole system.

Great compact quick release. Only down fall is the release knob is a little low and large, it rubs on the plate that I am mounting it to and the release side of the bottom plate binds on the rubber top of the trippod head. Had to lift the unit with a piece of thin rubber to fix the issue.
