So we decided to get rid of the dinning room table and set up that space as our home studio. We opted for this kit because the whole thing was more affordable than one Canon speed lite. They work great with umbrellas and soft boxes. (No mounting for beauty dish) The fuse on one of them was broken upon arrival but they are cheap and easy to find. The stands do the job although I recommend using sand bags. On the down side it has a (beep) to indicate recharge and I have not be able to turn it off. If you are trying to set up your firs studio and can't afford the Profoto B2s look not further, this budget friendly kit will definitely improve your portraits.

This was the first 'studio light' setup that I purchased, and it hit the mark. This kit is a good value for three lights and stands. The stands are air-ride aluminum, the light housing plastic, the snoots and gels plastic, and barn doors painted metal. Don't bounce it off the ground. The lights can run hot if you really burn them. If you want to go mobile, a cold-shoe-with-umbrella-hole bracket will fit on the top of the stand, allowing additional flexibility. The kit will hit couples with about f/8-f/11 worth of light indoors. Great kit for portraits in home/garage studio setups. The lights' build quality is mixed. Make sure you have spare fuses, these will sometimes ship with pre-popped fuses. Oops. $5 for 5 and you're set. If you want to get your feet wet with off-camera lighting, with 'studio lights', or just to get better portraits, buy this kit. Costs less than fast glass, and will significantly improve your pictures.
