Flashpoint light stand casters

Works well on smooth surfaces. Needs better mechanism for securing the wheel to legs - entire unit tends to turn once modifier added to stand causing problems moving unit. 

Requires gentle use but gets the job done. Probably won't buy again.

Handle with care

Great price compared to other caster sets. Work great provided 1.) Your light stand diameter is 22mm as indicated in the title of the product and 2.) You properly drill a small hole in the leg to lock the caster in the correct place. This set requires both a small hole drilled into the base legs using the assembly as a template for proper hole placement IN ADDITION to the friction of the hand tightened, aluminum spacer. My apologies as I forgot what diameter bit I used to drill the holes. I can tell you that I purchased 3 sets for some of my light stands. Do not use these on your C-Stand! That is another Adorama product that works really well on my C-stand with no drilling required. Six of my light stands now have casters and it makes studio work so much nicer!

Nice little wheels

The wheels work perfectly for what I needed in order to have a smooth movement using my tripod.  I would have need to purchase a new, expensive tripod to get what I have now.

Didn?t think my stand could be fitted with wheels but OMGGGG am I in heaven! They fit perfectly and now I can move around on location with ease. Thank you.

They did not fit my tripod, but if they did the tightening screws would hold them in place. Solid investment.

The 3" wheels roll easly. Brake is easy to set and release.
You will have to modify the stand, by drilling a 1/4" hole, to receive the pin for the anti-rotation block.
Of course you'll have to verify your stand has 22mm legs.
Price is right.

Like the 3" wheels. Stand must be modified to use these.

The wheels are very strong and heavy.  On my light stand they seem to swivel and don't stay at the angle I place them but I am going to adapt the stand legs and I know they will work great.  It is so nice to roll a stand instead of drag a stand.Yes I did get another set.

I wanted so bad for these to work.  They were sold and sturdy.  I have a flashpoint c stand, and thought these would work.  The c stand's legs ended up to be 24 or 25mm.

These wheels fit on my boom light stand. The problem is the set inserts (that hold the wheels in place) are not universal. I had to use the ones from an old set of inferior wheels to make it work.

Solid and well-built. Use a pliers to tighten down the thumbscrews - they come loose easily.

I purchased Adorama's Flashpoint C-Stand with Boom and was looking for wheels to fit the C-Stand Legs. I was at Adorama and told them what I needed and they sold me these wheels.  However the diameter of the opening simply is too small to fit on the C-Stand legs.  I'm going to try to adapt something but thought I would let other photographers know that these are not the wheels for a c-stand.

Great and easy to install

These wheels are sturdy and easy to adapt to my stands. Plan on buying 1 more. Saved me some serious money, do same and buy these wheels. Could have easily bought a stand with wheels, then I have another huge stand to store, this wheels take up minimal storage space in my car and studio.

very well designed and sturdy. Did not fit my particular stand as the mounting studs where to thick. This is not a knock on the product itself as if it my stand I would have kept these. I returned them since I did not want to modify my particular stand. If you purchase a stand from Adorama and these fit they will work great.

nice wheels and locking, that was what i wanted. but no fault of the product but i miss read the inner diameter for the leg mounts so i had to open them up or seen more for the correct ones. like them alot :)

I took a bit of a chance when I ordered this product. The big name brand C-Stands are very expensive. The Flashpoint is not. A very happy surprise. I immediately ordered three more. Impressive quality!

Sturdy, well-built C-Stand

The casters seem sturdy and very well built, but come with no instructions. When installed correctly, they perform as though they were made for the light stand. The wheels roll perfectly and effortlessly on hard flooring as well as on carpet. In my opinion, there are two pictures missing from the item description: one showing the inside cross section (which is not circular) of the leg holder, and one showing the stator (the metal piece that pushes against the leg when you tighten the thumb screw) with the pin projection. Why is this important? Because this would factor into your buying decision.

One previous reviewer suggest that you over-tighten the thumb screw in order to prevent the leg holder from twisting around when the stand is loaded. This is not true if the castor is installed correctly; (this is where some instructions would be helpful).

The pin projection from the stator is supposed to fit into a hole at the back side of the stand’s leg (again, this is where some instructions would be helpful). Once this is done, and the leg holder is slipped onto the leg (and the thumb screw is tightened), there is no twisting of the holder, period. Also no over-tightening necessary.  Luckily, my light stand (Creative Light LS413) came with predrilled holes in this location. If your light stand does not have these holes, then for proper installation of the casters, you would have to drill them; (again, this is where some instructions would be helpful). Because the leg holder’s inside cross section is not circular, if you try to install the caster without drilling a hole for the pin projection, you would have to over-tighten the thumb screw to keep the caster from twisting; (which would run the risk of deforming the tip of the leg).

If you have to drill holes, a fair amount of precision is needed to position them (again, instructions needed) so that the casters align themselves properly when they are installed and the stand is loaded with your precious equipment.

Sorry for the long-winded review, but I think it may be helpful to someone who is on the fence about this product. Excellent product.
