This is a great light for the money, if your starting out, or a hobbyist. Only problem was when I received it, one light was broke, so I haven't seen the total brightness of it yet. It does the job for what I need it for.

Well, since I prefer to work with natural light, this softbox is my way to avoid flashes when I cannot work outdoor. Good for indoor portraits, perfect for product photography.

This has been a great addition in the studio, especially when balancing with daylight from windows.

Overall, I think these lights are pretty great. Only two complaints: 1) The bulbs have to be screwed in pretty tight to illuminate, causing unnecessary stress on the bulb and socket. This is a problem especially in cases when you will be breaking these down for storage often, as I will. 2) The holes for the diffuser supports often don't align well. It's a design flaw caused by the holes being right in the seam of two conjoining pieces, so it those pieces aren't perfectly aligned, it's difficult to get the rods in securely. These are pretty minor issues, and overall, these are a great value for the money!

When paired with any standard base this kit makes a great starter light. I switched the CFLs out to LEDs at half the wattage but with the same lumen output; and no glass so moving it around is a bit safer.

The product seemed above average China made quality. I didn't have the soft-box hole assembly problems other people complained about... But, TWO of the Seven light fixtures did not work. I've tested all the bulbs and they work. Also the multiple toggle switches on the back of the unit had several switches that were poorly wired, the lightest touch of the swtiches make the lights flicker or turn off. I wanted to love this product because it outputted as much light if not brighter than my KINOFLO DIVA lights. It would've recieved 5 Stars for its price point, and a recommendation had I not had the issues with an entire section of the lights not working. I returned it and await for the replacement.

This light is very useful when I am taking portraits. I use it as the main light with my other lights as the hair light and back light. It really works great.

I have been using speedlites and thought I would give constant lighting a chance. I've seen much more expensive 7 bulb lights, but this one got me to try it because of the price. I one of the reviews, I saw a complaint that one of the holes used to mount the softbox was not drilled properly, and one of the 7 bulbs was not functional. That is exactly what happened to me when I tried to set up the Flashpoint CoolVee. I had a drill, so I was able to fix the hole and I got a new bulb. But, be warned. You get what you pay for.For the money it's probably worth it. It works ok, but be prepared to fix a shoddily made product.

I am generally pleased with the product. It does produce a fair amount of light for the power consumed. The included bulbs are good, having a good color rendering ability and a Kelvin rating of around 5000 degrees. The included soft box is the choice I made after trying the reflector first. There was a manufacturing defect that forced me to open up one of the eight holes for the spring rods. This was the only significant flaw. I will not be switching because of the difficulty in attaching the soft box. Not the kit you want for quick set up at locations unless you have lots of room in an equipment truck to leave it assembled.

THEY ARE COOL LIGHTS SO YOU CAN LEAVE ON WHILE YOU CHECK SHADOWS AND LIGHT. I DID GET ONE BULB THAT DID NOT WORK. I DIDN'T ASK FOR ANOTHER BECAUSE I NEW I WANTED TO ADD A 100 WATT LIGHT TO THE MIDDLE. THE BULBS ARE VERY DULL AND SHOULD BE SUNLIGHT QUALITY. I DO LIKE THEM STANDS COULD BE BETTER TO.

Good light output with switching options. The lamp body is constructed of with cheap plastic and not of industrial strength type. The holes for the reflector support rods were drilled with lots of debris left inside and I have to de-burr them with special de-burring smoothing tool to clean without enlarging them. Be very careful if you want to clean the deeply in-bedded debris, and, do not drill because if you enlarge them then the support rod may slip out, and, there will be no way to fix it. The reflector is a challenge to put together, I assembled and dis-assemble the kit coupe of times to get it right. The clips provided for the inside soft white muslin were so small that it was a pain for me to hook them, so I have to force the clips to bent for easy insertion. The unit good soft light for my portraiture and works well.

The Flashpoint CoolVee 7 is the complete solution of continuous florescent lighting.
Seven daylight fluorescent spiral lamps make large creative lighting setups a breeze. Featuring cool-running, 7 bulb long-life lamps delivers a total output equivalent up to 760W of tungsten lighting. The unit has four switches that control which lamps can be switched on or off in almost any configuration and power output required.
Two included light modifiers offer solutions for a variety of demands, from bright, high key to ultra soft gentle contrast. The detachable pebble finished reflector provides a wide, soft and even light spread. For even more glamour and softness, the octagonal softbox creates a light that is reminiscent of sun drenched clouds spreading a warm glow from above.
The efficient octagon shape produces flattering portraits, beautiful catch lights, even broad spread for larger coverage. A removable inner scrim baffle is a great flexible option for achieving diffusion levels. Both light modifiers are perfect for exceptional lighting in your next cool video production.
