I have been through many lights and I don't know why I waited so long to purchase these lights. The price is right and the results are incredible. I think, when I get the funds that I am going to order more. I love them.

I am a D.P. that has shot with a tungsten package for over 30 years. These lights are excellent but extremely hot. I have received so many complaints by actresses being uncomfortable with the heat that I had to change things. I kept on asking so many questions but could not get that many answers from a technical point of view. So here is my review: They are light weight, quick to set up, come with a case and very powerful. I call this setup the interview light kit. This is the best interview light kit I have every used. I will never use a kinoflo after using these lights. Kinos don't have much punch to them. I mount the light on a mini boom arm. You could also mount it to a C-stand with the gobo arm. The light does not have much weight. NO heat at all. I also use smaller led light for a hair light and a background light. Shoot with Canon 5D mark3. Light at 5 feet away form actress (butterfly position) These lights have some punch to them. It is nice because I can back the light up to give actress more room. 100 ISO with 60 shutter I am at a T4 with the light at about 65% . Wow, put some fill with a card and beautiful light. Color Balance: I set my balance at 5300. Skin tone is true at 5300 after many tests. They are daylight balanced but noticed that they are warm when camera is set at 5600. Quality of light: Soft : Light does come with a sock diffuser but I don't use it. The light is very soft and fills in wrinkles nicely. Con's: 1. Hard to cut. Light is round and does not have any type of barn doors. I use black wrap and C-47's and was able to cut it nicely. 2. Catch light (Eye light) very minor: The light is 14" diameter. The catch light does show up on the eye but not like using a 36"x36" softbox (some call it modifiers). Conclusion: These lights are awesome. I have producers asking me for the interview light kit now. I highly recommend these lights. . It must be at least 10 characters long. Consider whether you would recommend this product and what you like or dislike about it.

Small enough to travel....big enough to handle all our interview lighting needs. Dialing up or down the intensity makes our job requirements simple and comprehensive. Worth the investment...

A reasonably large amount of light. At 14" round the out of the box size isn't terrible. They are light, quick to assemble, and functional. The remotes are great, letting the videographer great control of key to fill ratios. However, there are 24" square and 36" octagonal softboxes available. They use holes that are already in the light. The softboxes don't have a lip or grid to control spill (grip tape and black foil is what I use) and the metal lip on the light doesn't let it fill the box as well as an exposed bulb creating a less even light. Umbrellas work but have lots of spill...more of a photo than a video solution. Reverse mount umbrella softboxes almost work...but the 14" diameter creates a big dark spot (which wasn't as bad in a 50" Wescott Apollo. The lights come in their own hat boxes, the stands have individual cases, all with shoulder straps. It is a very easy light kit to transport. How much do I like it? I bought two sets.

These are wonderful. More than twice as many LEDs as most other LED banks I've tried. Small footprint, light, and comes with carrying case. These can provide both daylight and tungsten color temp and are fully dimmable!

Because this a relatively new purchase I can not comment on the important issue of durability. I can say having only used them on but three three ocassions so far, that they got the job done; providing a nice soft illumination, and their dimmer gave me added control. As happens with soft sources, they spread and spill beyond the desired target areas and so a flag kit or maybe a large roll of Cinefoil / black wrap and clips with which to contain spillage is necessary. The stands could be better - more sturdy, and their stage locking lever easier to secure..., they seem to demand a lot of effort to retain the desired height; lastly, a better light stand bag that can accommodate all three stands would be a major plus...,the bag provided is flimsy and covers only two, leaving the backlight/boom stand without coverage. I ended up buying a separate padded stand bag for ease of transport and to protect and extend the life of these valued instruments Other than that, I think the kit a good value; I wish they offered the user the option of battery operation, but that might be asking too much at that price. For their VAlUE they're a good buy and I'd recommend them.

Easy to put together. Lights the area well. No problems. The remote dimmer was more than I needed.

This is an excellent kit for the money. Throws out a lot of light, they're adjustable and the remote cable dimmers make it easier. Can't say enough about the quality. Stands, carrying case, diffusers are added bonuses.
